I read the comic for a few years (further than they've gotten in the show) but then had to quit. It was too bleak.
I haven't watched the show at all but I've read enough about it to know they change almost everything. Like who dies when. And it is the original writer. It's an opportunity for him to try new directions with his characters. And that way everything is still a surprise for the viewers. I think it's smart.
I'm also gonna throw it out there that Walking Dead does a lot of filming in my city The Big Sp!t is about 4 miles from my house. The neighborhood where Rick ditched Carol is right around the corner from the Big Sp!t. My husband used to live there. They have filmed in the road a mile from my house a couple times. Lots of other places close by..
This is a road they were driving on at the very end of one of the last episodes. I drive down this road all the time
I am very excited to see the upcoming scenes at the Country Club where my husband and I used to work! Done AWing it up
@rocknrollfriend & @jackofthebox I have seen them filming several times. I don't hang around and watch, more like drive by slowly. I don't know why, but the churches around here like to load as many people up as they can into their buses to go stare at the filming.. So many parents with young children standing around, and teenagers jumping and waving their arms yelling at Daryl... I find them obnoxious just passing by, I can't imagine what the cast/crew thinks of them.
I can't bring myself to be rude to them and stand around gawking. I tell my husband if I ever ran into them aound town(like MIL has), I would offer to go get anything they needed, so they wouldn't have to deal with the public... Though I'm sure they already have assistants to do this for them. I'm just sure they've had their fill of the people in this town.

Wow, that does sound annoying. And a weird church outing, haha!

We watch it Monday night too! We don't have cable so we get it on Amazon Instant Video. It loads up after it airs late Sunday night.
It is the only TV show I am currently obsessed with. Like, obsessed enough that I pay $2+ per episode just to see it in semi-real time.
We should have a Tuesday morning Walking Dead check in.

@Shabutie I am TOTALLY impressed!
Have you ever seen any active filming? I would be such a silly fangirl...
@MrsCodeMonkey I like Michone too as they develop her character more. Learning a bit more about her history in this last episode was very sad.
