Last weeks goals/activities: how did you fair in meeting your goals?
What are your goals/activities planned for this week?
GTKY: Are you coveting--or perhaps have--any postpartum fitness gear? (Or gear that you view as such.) For instance a jogging stroller, a baby carrier pack for hiking, or mommy and me swim classes?

Last weeks goals/activities: how did you fair in meeting your goals? Met!
What are your goals/activities planned for this week? Same as always: 3 workouts, bodyweight squats; a little nervous since it's a busy week at work and home.
GTKY: Are you coveting--or perhaps have--any postpartum fitness gear? (Or gear that you view as such.) For instance a jogging stroller, a baby carrier pack for hiking, or mommy and me swim classes? There's a carrier pack my DH is very interested in and I've thought about surprising him with it. Lately, jogging strollers have been looking great, but I'm not an outdoor runner, so I am not sure it would be a worthwhile investment for me. It will definitely be a wait and see purchase. Hopefully our regular stroller does the trick.
@Anneplusone: Any particular jogging strollers you're looking at? Best of luck with a half marathon this fall! I admire the goal (although a 5k is pushing it for me!).
@Jt7dreamz: I've heard wonderful things about the barre workouts; are you going to Pure Barre? I'm also anxious for better weather! I hope I'm out walking with baby in lovely May weather!

I haven't been working out much at all. The last few times I did my longer yoga routines, I ended up with horrible pubic bone pain the next few days. I should start doing the short yoga video again, but my hips are finally feeling good and I don't want to mess them up again! I do walk quite a bit for my job, but it's not the same as working out. For post-partum, I can't wait to get back on my elliptical and have my body to myself again.
@Pinecone21: Yikes! I hope you feel better soon! I totally agree with the sentiment of having your own body back. I don't want to rush this experience, but I do sometimes have to remind myself: this too, shall pass, because it sometimes feels as if I'll never feel "normal" again.
@babycaps: Whew, just reading 70 hours tires me out; I'm glad you weren't trying to squeeze in workouts during that time! Rest is the only thing you should have been focused on! I hope baby flips on his or her own; and if not, I hope your recovery is quick and easy.

@anneplusone, are you thinking aboit starting to train for a half or a full while post-partum? I am, or maybe a tri. Maybe we could be training buddies. :-)
@pinecone21, I HEAR YA on wanting your body back! Meeeee toooooo. Ugh.
@babycaps you are a stronger woman than I am for that 70 hour week! Yikes. No wonder the workouts faltered. GL this week!
@jbelle, you win consistency prizes. I can't handle it. It's off the hook. ;-) Congrats!
@jt7dreamz, barre workouts sound so cool but I have never tried one. Would love to hear more!
AFM, I did surprisingly well what with being out of town for Grampa's funeral and all. My mom and I went swimming together on Saturday, my sister and I went to the gym together on Sunday (she ran; I swam), I went for a good mile-long walk outside including a decent-sized hill with MH on Monday, went swimming again on Wednesday, and am about to head to the pool now!
I've kinda given up on specific lap goals because I am so damn tired and just getting to the pool feels like a victory. If I can get in 34 laps this weekend I will be PSYCHED and that's that.
Hey guys! I don't normally post on these threads, but I figured you were the best group to ask my question. Do any of you know how to find a personal trainer that will come to your house? Is there a particular website that is specifically for this? I'm considering doing this after DD is born, but I have no idea how to find someone in my area. Any suggestions?
@Pepperedmoth: At least I've got consistency, since I didn't keep up weight bearing exercises like I'd hoped to! Again, I'm so sorry about your grandfather.
@kashibear: we got a free trainer home visit with the purchase of our weight machine, so that makes me think you might be able to call a fitness equipment store and get names. You might also be able to get names from a gym, but I don't know if they would try and upsell a gym membership hard or not. There's always Google and Craigslist, although I--while not exceptionally paranoid--would probably try word-of-mouth first. Sorry I can't be more helpful, maybe someone else can. Good luck!
