Just curious! I know it is safer to keep the little ones RF until age 2, but I just wanted to see what everyone else is doing out of sheer curiosity!

Re: Rear-facing vs Forward-facing

  • Can I be special? He's rf in my car, which is the main car he is in. But he's ff in SO car. His car seat and his new car don't work well together to get a good fit rear facing.

Understandable @exc1tedforbaby1! I totally almost put a Special Snowflake option but I didn't think anyone put their kids sideways or anything and I was blanking on other reasons, so I left it off! Lol! But yes, you qualify with a valid reason!! =D>

  • We are special too! In my car, the seat is still rear-facing. My hubby turned the seat in his car to forward facing despite my protests. :-( I will admit, our 30 pound son is getting pretty cramped in the rear facing seat…but I'm determined to keep it rear facing as long as possible.

  • He RF in our car, but when I get a seat for my mom's car it'll have to FF. She won't be able to get him in there otherwise. Damn small 2 door cars.
  • He is still RF, but at the speed that he is growing, I'm thinking he'll be FF sooner...which I do not want. :( I just adjusted his seat to give him more room, so hopefully that will get him until he's 2.

  • We recently discovered that DD STILL fits in her baby carrier, within the weight and height restrictions. We moved her to a rear facing convertible seat just after her birthday.

At this rate she'll be rear facing until she is five.

  • Still RFing and will until she maxes out the RF limits of her seat (40lbs, 40 inches).

  • DD is still RF in all cars (mine, DH's, and the baby sitters).  Although DH has asked a couple times in the past few months if we can switch her to FF.  He's egar to make the switch, but thankfully he knows better than to to it without my permission!  LOL!

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid.  Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth.  If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP.  My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!

  • Still rear facing.  Will rear face until four, as this is usually when I forward face.
That being said Logan turned 3 on the 10th, and he is forward facing.  He was forward facing when he came to me.  He rear faced until January when they recalled the combi coccoro car seat, which both Eryn and Roo were in.  I turned him and put him into a Maestro and used his RXT and Leah's RXT to rear face them.  I still haven't got the new Canadian car seats since our move, but will buy him and Leah forward facing harnessed car seats.  I believe they will be going into the new Britax frontiers.
