Success after IF

WWYD? eSET FET which embie?

This is complicated but I'd appreciate any feedback.  Maybe just writing it will let me know which way I am leaning. Smile

I am so fortunate to have met my babe; she has two potential siblings.

GIVEN:  We have 2 frozen blasts with combined 70% of having at least one child.  I am 40.  We will do eSET (elective single embryo transfer) for various reasons.  We would like 1 more child, but would also like to transfer both embies, albeit separately.

Blast "2/3": 50% live birth - Grade "ok", genetically normal Day 6 early blastocyst

Blast "5AA": 30% live birth - Grade "excellent", genetically unknown Day 6 blastocyst

QUESTION:  Do we first transfer the less likely 5AA (which I feel like should be our more likely based on grade) or the more likely 2/3 (which I feel like is our less likely based on grade) to survive?

Other thoughts:  If the first TX fails we could immediately do a 2nd TX and know the outcome one way or another.  If the first TX succeeds then in years to come would we do a 2nd TX (e.g. at age 44)?

Thanks!  Congrats on your babes and/or pgs!

  • It seems like a very personal decision. If it was me I would go with the one that has the 50% chance of success first. Good luck!!!

  • I would go with the genetically normal one as well if you are okay with not having a 3rd child.

  • @Dragonfly1226, @BunnyintheYard, @LnR70707, @CHI-06 Update: My RE concurred with you all, and strongly recommended I transfer the genetically normal blast first. I did and got lucky (again). So a decade after starting TTC for two children to have in our arms - we have been fortunate to meet them both. The third "unknown" blast remains... Thank you again for your input. Congrats on your children!
