At what point do you call the OB?

Ok so 35 weeks pregnant here and I've been seriously uncomfortable. Now I have been having random excruciating pain from the area below my belly button and down. The baby is moving fine. It comes and goes but not consistently. However, when it happens I am literally frozen and in tears. It is horrendous. I literally went back and forth with myself this afternoon.. Call the dr, call 911, call DH, oh they stopped. Don't call anyone. And then all over again. I feel like if the baby is moving and they aren't consistent do I call? I would definitely call if they never stopped, or got worse, but that's not the case.. Is this just normal pregnancy stuff? It sucks! Would you call the dr? Or wait until the next appt...

  • Call. Any time you need to ask it's worth a call!

  • I knew everyone was going to say that. I'm just being stubborn because it keeps going away. I feel like the girl who cried wolf.

  • Yep, call.....if it's nothing the worst that can happen is you feel a little sheepish for calling (even though everyone will tell you not to). If it's not nothing, you'll be glad you called. Keep us posted; I hope everything's OK!

  • Are you sure it isn't the "big C" word? That's sort of how mine as a complication started out and by the time I got to the hospital then ultimately had to give in to taking morphine the pain was so bad! Better to call now and look like a Mommy crying wolf than to let things go and it be something more serious...

  • Call the doctor...it's what they get paid for.
  • Ok he said to lay down and drink lots of water. If it is still happening in an hour to call back and likely go to l&d. He thinks I'm dehydrated and doing too much and it's putting strain on my belly and causing pains. Which is possible because I keep having to lift DD all day. On the chair, in the car, into bed.. Etc. It's just kind of hard to stop being a mom. Grrr. Off to lay on the couch and pray DD doesn't get out of bed again bc I'm the only one home to lift her back in.

Funny you asked.  I just went in the garage and got the wooden one that I am not finished painting for her.  Now she should be good.
