Favorite couples activities at home?

Keep it clean, you dirty minds!

What are some non-sexy time things you like to do around the house with DH once the kids are in bed? Lately I feel like we're in a rut here; I'm on pelvic rest for the PP so sexy time is out, and we've resorted to constant TV and movies- but half the time we argue first about what to watch and it's unenjoyable. We live relatively close to family for babysitters, but we can't call on them regularly so going out once DS goes to sleep isn't a routine thing. Plus, the weather is awful so no one wants to go anywhere anyway. We used to like cooking together, but it's become a mad rush to throw things together after work/before DS throws a fit for dinner. And who wants to cook AGAIN after cooking and cleaning up from dinner anyway?

So what are your top three ideas?

I will be coming back for ideas! DH and I must be in a rut too. Our evenings almost always consist of ice cream and our most recent series addiction on netflix.

Sometimes we do a puzzle together. It can get competitive though, ha! If you give it a try, pick a picture that won't complety bore you or your husband.

DH and I usually play games on our phones together. For example, we spent 6 hours over the last week beating the know the 90s app on the Iphone. Also, we watch movies - he picks one movie then I pick a movie - that way we never fight about it. Right now, we are both really into the Olympics.

We have like the entire collection of Lego PS3 games and enjoy them as a family. We also enjoy a lot of the same TV shows, so that's not an issue for us to argue over so much.

We're boring too. We spend alot of time on the computer or our phones. Our time together is so limited it seems like. We both work full time, get a few hours together in the evening, then bed. It's usually just catching up on our own individual stuff. We like food so that's usually our together time then just staying quiet and chill after dinner.

-Play games-jenga,guesstures,guess who.
-Bake something new or make ice cream sundaes.
-Sit outside (we have a little apartment balcony) & grab a drink, candles/blankets.
-Snuggle in bed early if you have a tv in your room & get snacks & lots of pillows & watch something rediculous like 'sex sent me to the er' or 'my crazy obsession'(TLC)

We play board/card games. We play Scrabble, Phase 10, and Scattegories. We also watch a lot of a Tosh.0 and true crime shows. When it's nicer and I'm not pregnant, we like to drink and play lawn golf or washers.

We're a pretty crazy couple!

Whenever we have a night in, these are our top things to do:
-Read a book together (it gives us something different to talk about)
-Put together a puzzle
-Paint, draw, write (you don't have to be skilled

Sometimes we will pick a word and try to draw what comes to mind and it isn't always beautiful, but we do laugh about it)
-Play a game

I wish we liked the same TV shows- it would be so much easier! If I have to watch one more episode of Bering Sea Gold I might divorce him

Let's just say my collection of crappy reality TV isn't his cup of tea, either.

We do like some of the same drama shows, like Walking Dead, but it's crappy in-between season time and we're going mad. I think when the weather is nicer and we can get out for walks, or sit in the yard by the fire pit and listen to some music, etc... it won't be so bad. I feel like I really understand Seasonal Affective Disorder this year- no joke!

Also- i LOVE board games, but he's always playfully made fun of me for it. It might be his last chance before being relegated to the basement for his shows, though.

We have a few favorite shows we love to watch together. For us, there is nothing better than a good dinner and our favorite show. We also try to do errands together that have to be done like grocery shipping. I also feel like we have such limited time together so the more time together, the better (even if it is boring stuff). Maybe try to rotate movie/show choices so there isn't any conflict. I moan and groan when my husband picks, but I usually end up enjoying it

We like to cook together, often get into the tv rut though. We love taking baths together, internet scrabble...read in bed, sketch or read on opposite ends of the couch...play music while we clean or fold laundry (don't do that often enough lol)

I was B-) just reading the title, but then I read the post.

We're giant nerds, so we play a lot of games. We also got a big desk from Ikea and put both of our desktops on it, so we can do stuff on the computer and still sit next/talk to each other. We'll also watch Netflix or Hulu. Sometimes we just hang out in the same space; he'll play Xbox while I read or play Candy Crush (because I have a problem).

At home stuff:

We put on music (Spotify playlist, a record, whatever) and talk. We share articles/blogs throughout the day, so we have something to talk about beyond how work went, or what stressful thing we need to get done, etc. Sometimes aforementioned music leads to dance parties, but that has decreased somewhat since I no longer imbibe, if I'm being honest.

We play video games together.

We read books together.

We do different things next to one another.

We play with the dog.

We paint stuff.

Sometimes we'll make SS something easy, and then cook something together after he goes to sleep.

I came in anticipating saying sex. Beyond that I've got nothing.

Ok well I have some but I doubt many will be interested. Before DS we enjoyed gardening together, tinkering in the garage (normally on his truck), and grilling out or just sitting around a fire talking and listening to the radio.

it gets super lonely when he's gone for 2 weeks + at a time and when he is home he's only here for about 4 days so we try and squeeze in as much as possible.

Dh and I are super boring, we don't get out much, haha! When he gets home from work we eat dinner together, sometimes if I have been slacking or not feeling well he'll help me make it. (DH does NOT cook, which I am totally fine with and have accepted at this point). Then he usually plays around on his phone "catching up" with the world for a little bit. Then we either watch whatever TV series we're into (right now it's That 70's show because....why not?) or play a board game, or sometimes I can get him to help me with baby projects. When the weather is nicer we go on a walk after dinner usually, or have dinner on the patio. We also do lame things like go bowling and mini-golfing!

I know exactly how you feel! DH is typically gone 5-6 days at a time and only home 1-2 days a week. The other week he was home for 20 hours before having to leave again. It sucks. And this week they got pulled into OT and had to work through the weekend so he'll be gone for a full 2 week stretch by time he gets home. That's why I'm flying to Florida on Friday, to spend some time with him then drive back home with him.

Um, I think I have my first bump crush! We loveeeee Tosh.0 and also like to have a few drinks and play washers (which I really suck at by the way!!). I've never once managed to get the washer in the middle, and barely make it to the box! We also like to have a few drinks while sitting outside by a fire.

We watch out DVR'd tv shows in bed, or Playboy TV. Don't judge! Some very entertaining shows on there that we love to laugh at together. Plus we use that as a chance to play with each other - even if we don't end up doing the deed. We also like to grill outside, play with our pups, and some days he will play on his Xbox and I'll just hang out in the room with him and surf the net and we just talk or joke around.

Mostly we just veg at night and watch netflix. We do have a pretty intense standing game of gin rummy. We save the score each time and just keep adding to it. I have been whooping him lately.

This might come across as sexy time, but DH and I often take nice warm showers together. It is completely innocent but its a nice time to relax together and unwind from our day. Not sure if this is possible for you, but I know that this is something I absolutely love doing.

DH works from home and I'm a SAHW, so we spend basically 24 hours a day in the same space. To prevent murder- we spend the majority of it doing our own things independently.

When I'm not confined to a laying down position- we play video games together, we play board/card games together, we do house projects together sometimes. Lots of the time we just follow our own hobbies independently and spend a bit of time before bed catching up with eachother.

At the moment though, I can't really do any of that so he comes by to visit me wherever I decide to spend the day and we talk. About baby, about the nursery, about what he or I did all day in the other room. Just gossip. It's not as much fun as doing activities together, but it does keep me from going totally insane by myself on the couch all day long.

We will make the kids a simple dinner and then do something for us after the kids go to bed. Sunday night we had take out sushi, San Pelligrino, and then made smoothies for while we watched Downton Abbey. We also have two different boxed sets of travel shows in Europe (Rick Steves and Rudy Maxa) and sometimes we'll break those out. Pretty much stuff that has already been mentioned. Most nights we have a no cell phone/tablet rule while we do something together, but sometimes we'll spend time on the tablets and then chat about random funny things or entertaining articles we find.

We are redbox whores. We don't have cable so we rent movies regularly. But DH and I are typically really busy anyway... There always seems to be something going on between family, friends and church. So, when we do have evenings to ourselves, we do a whole lotta nothing.

We love board games! There are some really great games out there. Our favorites include: smallworld, qwirkle, betrayal at house on the hill. Also, we enjoy playing silly video games (I'm pretty terrible, so easy is all I can handle) like old SEGA games, mario on wii, or harry potter legos on wii. We rent a lot of easy looking games from the library to change it up. Lastly, we play games/do activities from thedatingdivas.com a lot! We like their website, and even though some games/activities seem silly they always end up being fun because they are something new and different

We have a ruthless on going game of rumy 500 ( more like a million now) or darts. We also play bocce when the weather is nice.
