UPDATE T & P please

My cousin who had the preemie has postpartum psychosis with hallucinations, hearing voices, the whole nine yards. I'm encouraging her to talk to her doc since it's gotten worse but she's afraid of being committed. I texted her husband and my next step (if he doesn't see the seriousness of her condition) is to get her parents involved. Please send up a prayer that she gets the help she needs.

Update: she's being evaluated at the hospital now. Thank you for your thoughts/prayers...please keep them coming. I'll update when I know more.

That is very scary and I am sorry she is dealing with it. I agree with amilyn, do not wait. contact her family immediately. I am sending lots of positive T&P her way.

I am a psychiatric social worker and do psychiatric assessments in an ER I have numerous cases PP psychosis and it important to get her help now bc it gets worse before better and can be much harder to treat and deal with. Psychosis can be very dangerous to the individual having it as well as others around them. You and she are definitely in my thoughts.

Thanks everyone. I think her mom must have been working on her too, because she called her doctor. They've sent her to the hospital for an evaluation. I'll update when I get more news.
