Estrogen patches

I will start estrogen patches soon, and I am a little scared of them. Has anyone had any experience with them? I guess that mostly all of you had, since it is part of ifv in a way...could you please tell me about your experiences and thoughts about them? Did you have any 'side effects'?? Thank you!

    No noticeable side effects. They were annoying in that the adhesive made any fuzz or lint stuck tothem, so when I'd take them off there was a little 'ring' of lint. Took forever to get them off. Learned later best method for residue is makeup remover.

    TTC since July 2009. Dx MFI & LPD.

    IUI#4 1/23/13 on 75iu x9 Follistim = BFP then chem preg m/c (Feb 2013)
    IUI#5 BFN (April 2013)
    IVF w/ICSI Oct. 2, 2012 - 13R, 11M, 7F, 1 frozen blast 4BB grade - - - FET Nov 15, 2013
    BFP! Beta 1:104 @ 10dp6dt, Beta 2:178 @ 12dp6dt,  beta 3:366 @ 14dp6dt
    Saw heartbeat twice before missed M/C at 8w3d on 12/27/13, missing my little angel boy
    JUNE 2014 IVF#2;  5R, 2M, 1F Three day transfer 6/7.  Beta 6/18 - BFN
    Child Free Now?

    I didn't have any side effects - other than it hurting when you take it off (think bandaid but since it covers more surface area...).  Also I had the lint ring around the edges - I used baby oil to get it off.  Good luck with your cycle!

    The patches are pretty easy to use aside from the sticky stuff left over when you pull them off.  It is like pulling off a band-aid.  However, the sticky marks left good land marks of where to not immediately replace the next one.  I have not had noticeable side effects while using them.

    The patches are the best invention EVER. Loved not having to take suppositories!

    I had the patch - as PP said no side effects... I forgot I had them stuck to me sometimes they were so small and unobtrusive.  Good Luck!

    I found that Avon's Skin So Soft removed the extra adhesive without removing my skin and then I smelled like summer :)

    I like tea tree oil to remove the nasty leftovers, but then again, I use that stuff to clean everything! (Did you know it'll remove permanent marker? Crazy!) I used them to stop excessive bleeding when I was younger, rather than for IVF, so I couldn't tell you if the side effects were related or not?

    TTC #2 with assistance since 03/11
    Me: 33, Autoimmune (Hashimotos and FMS/CFS)
    Treated with Synthroid, acupuncture, TCM and supplements
    DH: 33, MFI (very low on all counts, high antibodies, hemochromatosis)
    Many treatments tried, none successful

    IVF/ICSI #1 05/14 - EPP/Antagonist, Gonal-F and Luveris, 18R, 14M, 13F - SET of 1BC, all arrested on day 5 - C/P
    Genetic testing = normal, DNA Frag = excellent
    IVF #2 03/15 - Long protocol with Suprefact, Gonal-F, and possibly Luveris, adding in PICSI
