  I don't want to rain on the parade, but one of my co- workers also works part time at Sbux.

  She says that the do this as entertainment-- like whomever can come up with the most ridic spelling "wins".

  Though I am sure some of these spellings are totally legit misspellings, which is frightening.

  We did not do names at the Sbux I worked at. We knew people by their drinks like oh hey here comes quad mocha guy or green tea frappe lady

  I have a friend who always gives a ridiculous name. Like David Bowie. She is a former barista, so I think she is just trying to entertain the staff.
