I don't think cyclists should be allowed on roads that haven't been designed specifically with them in mind. I think the roads should be upgraded with designated bicycle lanes so that everyone is safer.
I don't feel SAH parenting= maid. I hear so many people tell me I should have an impeccable house because I SAH. Sorry but when you pay someone to take care of your kids you expect their focus to be on your kids. Likewise I feel that my kids deserve that same focus. I don't mind picking up when they have gone to bed or when DH is home in the mornings, but I am not going to devote time that should go to them to keep my house at a ridiculously high standard. When you are a SAH parent your focus should be on your kids during that time, not on mopping and whatever else you could think of.
and another one - all of the media coverage related to Hoffman overdosing is ridiculous. Poeple OD on herion everyday and just because it is a celebrity it is mainstream news.

I couldn't agree more. The only things I ever really do during the day are dishes and laundry (and that only gets done sometimes). Everything else gets done in the evenings or on the weekends. For me, I do watch 2 other children so I never really have naptime. If I had available time at naptime then I would probably get a little more done.

We spent millions doing this in our area. Guess where the cyclists go? On the side walk or the road. It has pretty much done nothing except create a giant spare bike lane next to the sidewalk.
I agree. Everyone is safer when cyclists use the bike lane- that is why it is there.
It would be good if cyclists consistently followed the rules of the road. I've seen them riding against traffic (illegal here) and breaking other traffic laws, especially when I lived downtown. The effects of injuring or killing a cyclist would not only impact the cyclist and their family, but the driver as well, regardless who's fault the accident was.
We used to live out in a scenic area where a lot of cyclists would ride, sometimes two or three wide (this is illegal here except when passing), on a narrow, windy two lane road with no shoulder. The speed limit was 45mph and I was always nervous driving on the weekend for fear I'd turn a corner and hit someone.
My house would be so much dirtier if I were a SAHM. Just being home all day and having kids in the house all day creates a bigger mess. So I agree with PPs,
BFP #1 9/2010 (lost our baby at 21 weeks)
BFP #2 8/2011 (ectopic pregnancy)
BFP #3 10/2011 (chemical pregnancy)
BFP #4 12/2011 (Abigail born 8/15/12)
BFP #5 5/2013 (Griffin born 1/23/14 with heart defects, now repaired!)
As much as I want my kids to succeed in life, I hope they fail along the way so they can learn to be resilient. It's not so much a UO just a hope, I guess.

I agree. I don't necessarily want my kids to have everything they want. I think a little struggle builds character.
A little ugliness too. An awkward phase right around the preteen years would be great. Worked for me.

I hate when cyclists pick & choose the rules they follow. If you want to be treated like & have the rights of a car, follow the same rules!
Re: UO
My favorate food is white bread, sliced tomato, salt and pepper and Dukes mayo. I will eat it everyday twice a day.
UO - Pajama pants should not be worn out of the house unless you are in your yard or on a trip to your mailbox.
