How many hours a night

does your LO sleep, including feedings?  My LO went to bed last night at 8:30 and is still sleeping at 9:30am.  I feel badly that I have to wake him up 3 times a week to get my older one to school but I really think if I never had to leave the house he wouldn't wake up before 9.

Re: How many hours a night

  • We got really lucky with this one. My other two kids were terrible sleepers, but DD2 goes to bed every night at 9:00 and sleeps until 9:00 am. She wakes up to eat twice a night, always at the same time, but we bedshare and I nurse, so it's very easy.

  • He sleeps 8-8 if I'm in bed with him. He nurses several times in there. When I get up at 5:30, he usually only stays down for another hour. Part of it is my husband needs him down with the other kids while he gets everyone ready for the day
  • Lily sleeps usually 10pm-6/8am. She usually loves getting up when the sun comes up and into our room. But I try to push it a little longer.
    Welcome Lily Anna!

She sleeps from about 12:30-6:30...and not again until afternoon.

Are you exhausted or are you one of those people where six hours is more than enough?  I hope for your sake 6 hours is enough.

  • My LO usually sleeps from 10:00-8:00 with one or two nursing sessions in there.

  • Lately my guy has been falling asleep at 11, waking up at 2 to eat, back to sleep at 3 until 5 or 6, back to sleep usually at 7 for another couple hours.
  • LO sleeps from 8pm until 7am straight through every night. We got so so lucky she is a wonderful sleeper!
  • Lilijana sleeps every night from 10-11pm to 7:30am. She wakes once at 3-3:30am to nurse. After she nurses at 7:30am she usually takes a good nap for about 2 hours then it's cat naps all day and maybe one more good one later on at night.

  • Lately she has been going to sleep around 9/10 getting up at 12/1 then again at 5:30/6:30, if I get her at 5:30, she'll sleep again till 7:30/8 otherwise she's up at 6:30 till god knows when...
  • 9:30 until about 7 with several feedings in there, but he doesn't sleep much during the day.
  • LO sleeps from about 9 pm until 7-ish am with a feeding around 2:30 and 5 am. Does your sleep all the way through the night? I'm jealous.
No.  Lately he has been getting up once, sometimes twice.  I have found that if he doesn't sleep as much as he wants to during the day he gets up twice at night.  On days that we spend more time at the house, like yesterday, and he can sleep as much as he likes he only wakes up once in the middle of the night.

  • My LO will go to bed btwn 9 and 11 and will sleep till 6:30. He sometimes gets up around 2 or 3 to eat but not consistanlty! Today he has been super sleepy and slept for 2.5 hours this morning, I woke him up to eat and change him and he fell right back asleep! The past two days he was kind of off and took no naps so I think he's making up for it lol.
  • Ben sleeps from around 9pm until around 7 or 8am, he doesn't really have a set wakeup time.  On good nights he will do one 4-5 hour stretch and wakeup sometime around 1:30 or 2 for his first feeding then he's up every 2 hours like clockwork until we're ready to start our day.  On bad nights he's up every 1-2 hrs all night long.

  • He typically wakes up once at night, between 2 and 4, then again between 6 and 7. He goes to sleep around 8:30.

  • LO is almost 10 weeks and she sleeps from 11:30-7:30.  She eats at 10:45-11, then straight to bed where she babbles and puts herself to sleep.

She eats again at 7:30 when she wakes up. She naps from 10-12, 2-4, and 7-9...give or take.
  • My lo typically wakes up once at night, between 1:30-3:30, then again between 6 and 7. He goes to sleep around 9:00 and we usually start the day at 8:00am.

  • She goes down around 11 to midnight and wake between 7-10. Usually I feed her once, sometimes twice. And occasionally she will eat twice before going back to sleep.

  • LO is 6 wks old. We started him sleeping in his crib on Thurs and he immediately started STTN. Last night he went from 10:30pm till 6:45 this morning. (He used to give us a 5 hr stretch and then 3 after that.) During the day he usually naps for an hour or so after each feeding.
  • LO goes down around 10-1030 usually. He eats at 2:30-3:30, then again at 6-7. He may or may not get one more hour after that

  • LO is 10 weeks and he sleeps from about 7:30-6:30. He wakes up twice to nurse once at about 11:30 and again at 3:30. He doesn't really take a significant nap at all though during the day. I'm never complaining about that again though after reading this

  • The last 3 nights LO's slept over 9 hours -- going to bed between 8:00-8:30pm and waking up between 5:30-6:00am. It's been glorious. She's 10.5 weeks.

Mine sleeps from about 9-10 and is up for the day between 8:30 and 9. She takes a few naps throughout the day. She wakes up twice a night to nurse between 2-3 and again around 5-6 (usually the last feeding before I go to bed is between 10:30 and 11:30). I have to get her up too on the mornings I take DD to school, but she usually passes out in the car and will wake up once we get back home.

ETA: The saving grace is that she virtually almost always goes immediately back to sleep after feeding at night, which kinda makes up for still getting up every 3/4 hrs.

  • LO is 8 weeks and typically sleeps from midnight to 5AM, is up for a half hour to an hour for feeding/crying, and then sleeps again until 8:30 or 9.

  • LO sleeps from about 10 to 5 ish, then we nurse and he's back out until 9. Then he's up for the day other than a few cat naps here and there. I don't get to sleep till 9 though, because ds1 wakes at 630 :)
  • Anya falls asleep around 9:30 and goes until 7:30ish.  She wakes up a lot ...12:30ish, 3am and then around 5:30-6. She takes a small nap around 10:30-12 and her long nap is usually 1:30-4:30

  • Damn yall are all so lucky. DD slept through the night a few times...now she NEVER sleeps more than 3 hrs :((
  • My LO STTN, usually 8-10 hours (doesn't wake up to feed), then she is up for an hour, eats and plays a little, then goes back to bed for a 2-3 hr nap. She's an amazing sleeper! Sounds like you have a little sleeper too OP!
  • Our lo is not sleeping much at all! We are lucky to get 3 hr stretches.
  • Around 10 -7. Up usually 3 times to BF, but sometimes only 2. Sleeps are finally (seeming) to be longer !

  • Usually sleeps from 8-12 ish. That's his longest stretch. Up to feed. And then feeds again around 3,6 and 830. I can usually get him to have a little nap from 9-945 as we chill in bed together at that time. But he's in the basinette from 12-830. His 8-12 sleep we have him out in our playpen
  • DD is going 10:30pm to 7am with a feeding at 4am and 6am. Sometimes she gets up to nurse around 2:30-3am.

  • @osajia haha ok ok. In Archer's playpen. Sadly I don't get to go in a nice enclosed area and have naps. Although it would be nice...
  • 10weeks Usually about 8pm to 5am, occasionally he wakes at 2or3 am
He'll do some naps in the morning but nothing after lunch unless we're in the car or walking with the pram - he's up until 8pm
Night before last was a disaster awake every 1hr but second night in the cot and not the basket and no swaddling. I think we'll do a few more nights getting used to the cot then try not swaddling again
