High-Risk Pregnancy

*** Monday Bedrest Check-in ***

Hello ladies

How did you sleep?

Any new pregnancy symptoms, cravings, or aversions?

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or updates? (Ticker change?)

QOTD: Will you be listening to music in the delivery room? If so, who will be on your playlist? If not do you have another method in mind to stay calm during labor?

Re: *** Monday Bedrest Check-in ***

  • I feel like I just took a short nap. I wasn't able to get comfortable then I kept waking up so I never really fell into a deep sleep:(

Let's see, so far today, my hands and feet are swollen, I've been getting more b/h contractions, my throat is a little sore (hopefully I'm not getting sick), and leaky boobs....

Tomorrow is the big day!! 3D u/s & growth scan.

My playlist includes: Norah Jones, Michael Buble, Ingrid Michaelson, and some other instrumental/ambient music by various artists. I'm not sure if I'll keep it playing the whole time because although l&d with my 2 angels was painful I don't think it will compare to this one since she's already so much bigger. So, I'm not really sure what to expect as far as how I want the atmosphere of the room.... I may not want any noise or people around.

I posted about this last night, but we all came down with a stomach bug over the weekend and it was pure hell.  Thankfully we're all feeling much better today, although still not 100% quite yet.  I slept terribly last night, up every hour, so I'm hoping tonight will be better.

No other symptoms for me.  Just trying to eat and drink a little bit without overdoing it and it seems to be working.  I see my OB on Wednesday and MFM on Friday.

QOTD: TBH, I haven't even thought about L&D, I've been so focused on just staying pregnant!  I haven't taken a childbirth class or anything either.  I had back labor with DD which was so excrutiatingly painful, and none of the drugs worked.  I guess I should start thinking about this some more, huh... :)

@tracint, good luck tomorrow!  Can't wait to hear how it goes!

  • I didn't sleep to well either, the procardia makes me jittery and fatigued at the same time and once I get up to go the bathrroom I can't fall back asleep...
New craving is Ice Cream from Coldstone! Specifically their Cake batter icecream mixed with coffee ice cream and reeses peanut butter cup omg so good. I had 3 small bowls yesterday lol

Wednesday will be 35 weeks and we will be one week closer to our goal of making it to 36 weeks!

During labor I'm going to put on relaxation radio on Pandora, it helps me all the time.

@tracint that's exciting!! Good luck!! Hope to see some cute pictures!!
  • @Ashley22089 I'm having the same issue at night with Procardia. I'll be up with contractions debating whether to take it, finally give in, then am up feeling jittery and slightly short of breath.. it's awesome.

My contractions have been worse the past 2-3 days. I'm hoping it was just from needing Makena (injected today), but I'm having a little more pelvic pressure to. Contractions are still irregular enough and no leaking/blood so I've been laying low. I REALLY want to make it to 30 weeks since DS was 29w4d.

I have an ultrasound Weds, hoping all these new symptoms are nothing and things still look good.

  • @haziedaze I'm to the point that I would rather have the contractions then feel terrible all the time.. As bad and selfish as that sounds :(

I haven't taken it all day and I haven't had any so I have decided just to take it on an as needed basis.

Random question for everyone: are you getting stretch marks more on one side than another? I just noticed some pretty bad ones on my left side, probably because I have been laying on that side and being in bed a lot.. Just wondering if I was the only one this is happening to?
  • @Ashley22089 You're almost 35 weeks, so I totally understand! Additionally my doctors said that the research suggests it doesn't actually stop labor, just makes the preterm contractions/BH more bearable for those of us who have tons. Not sure what your doctors believe. I'm actually supposed to take it as needed only, but for me that's every 4-6 hours. It definitely feels like it I stop it baby will be here in a few days. That may not be true though!

  • @haziedaze thank you for the support on it and not making me feel terrible about it :)

I was under the impression it did slow down preterm labor and the contractions.. Thank you for that information, I'll have to ask my dr next week :) they want me on it 3x a day which I think is excessive if it's not preventing the contractions... Hmmmm
