Voice Cracking like a teenager

I've sung in my church choir a lot in the past. I tried singing with them this past Sunday and I could barely make it through without sounding like a teenager hitting puberty my voice was cracking so badly. I'm guessing the culprit is the excess mucus my body is producing but I'm not sure. Anyone else dealing with this? Any remedies? I've tried taking mucinex d and such but it's not helping. I want my voice back. :(

Re: Voice Cracking like a teenager

  • Acid reflux? Heart burn? My voice has been horse a few times lately (doesn't last long) even though my acid reflux wasn't bothering me, but I think it can do that sort of thing.

  • Dehydration can do that too.

  • I'll keep on eye on all of those and see if it helps. Thanks ladies! :)
  • Acid reflux has been affecting my voice a little, too. I sing in a band, and I also do VoiceOvers at work, and I notice my voice gets scratchy and tired much quicker, especially after eating, and when this happens, my range is smaller. I just try to do what I can to curb the reflux and stay plenty hydrated.
