Is anyone else struggling with bras? I obviously have grown and my old bras were uncomfortable. I went out and purchased 3 new ones that are bigger. The underwire hurts in everyone!! Anyone has recommendations on bras? Should I get no underwire? I think I should maybe look into nursing bras and recommendations?

Re: Every bra hurts....:-/

  • I just bought a few sports bra style nursing bras made by Motherhood Maternity. I liked that they do not have underwire and can adjust with me as I continue to grow. My bras were getting really uncomfortable and I know I am still going to grow. They had a buy one get one 50% off too at Buy Buy Baby.

  • Try a wireless bra. If you're bigger chested bravado has some with great support.

Congrats to my GP Sister from another mister Bruinsbabe!!

  • I switched to a nursing tank early on with DD and this one. No wire and no band around my expanding belly. I think I must carry high to have this problem but I can't stand a bra band when I'm pregnant. A nursing tank was the only solution I found after trying on every other bra in motherhood!

  • I bought an Elita camisole bra and it did the trick! My other bras aren't even tight, but it's really the underwire that makes it unbearable for me.

  • My vote would be to go to a store and get fitted by a professional. I wore the wrong size for 24 weeks. I got fitted, and got good bras, and I'm much more comfortable. They were expensive, but worth it.
  • Thanks ladies. I'm nervous to wear a sports bra to work it. Business formal dress so I'm trying to stay professional but comfortable. Do you think A sports bra is ok for work?

Get a pack of Genie Bra's.  Seriously.  They changed my life this pregnancy after a friend recommended them.  I got a 2 pack from Bed Bath and Beyond and they were about $25 and then I used my 20% off coupon.  I've heard some Target's carry them too.  No wire, decent support, good nip coverage :)

I am reminded how amazing they are on that odd occasion I wear a top that requires a "regular" bra.  I literally wear them almost every day.  (I bought a second pack).  I carry really high so regular bras start begin uncomfortable really early in my pregnancy.

It sounds like you're wearing the wrong size. I would go to somewhere like Intimacy or Nordstrom and get professionally fitted. I got fitted when I was pregnant with DD at a 38B. After she was born I got some nursing bras, first in 38B then 36C when I lost some weight. Last bra I bought on my own just before I got pregnant again was a 36C. It was super uncomfortable and dug into my chest. I went to intimacy to get fitted a week later and it turns out I was 32E. My bra is super comfy now, and it's an underwire.

  • I second Genie bra, and I have a large chest. They do not make my rack look nearly as nice as a Victoria's Secret bra, but no way am I paying $50 when I'm sure I'll just keep growing. And they are so comfy I could really care less. I got a 2 pack for $20, then ordered another 2 later.

  • I had to give up the underwire bras in my 1st tri. They were just too uncomfortable. If all else fails...don't wear a bra. I've found myself doing that lately if I'm dressing in layers i.e.couple of tanks with a button up maternity shirt, and/or cardigan or sweater. It's just way more comfy for me, but to each its own. Hope you find something that works for you.
  • I started wearing a Jockey brand in my first trimester. It's wireless and kinda a "bralette" style. I got it from kohls but I can't seem to find the link. They come is sizes S-XL though so ya.. you gotta try them on but they are very stretchy and supportive. I do have smaller boobs though but I've grown into a c cup since then.

I've also seen the same type of bras in nursing bra style so I'll probably buy a few of those when the time comes.

  • I've been having the same problem. I got fitted at Victorias Secret but still uncomfortable. I always wear a strapless bra, mainly under tanks as a base layer- I'm small chested! They used to make a seamless strapless bra but so far I haven't been able to track one down. Anyone know any non- underwire but still padded strapless bras?? Help!
