Teething ? - How long?!?!

DS has had his two bottom teeth coming over the last 2 1/2 weeks or so.  They finally broke through on Sunday, and he's still having pain.  He's been waking up again at night since Sunday night, and we are wondering how long it takes for a tooth to come in?  I thought that once they broke through it was quick. It would be nice to have his 2 front teeth for Christmas. :)

    DD's bottom two came through without any real problems and it was pretty quick.  However 4 teeth on the top all came through at once and that was miserable!!  It took well over a month for them to come through and then one of them was taking its sweet time and came through about a week later than the other three.  I could see it and it was bubbled under the skin it just was having a tough time breaking through.

    Do you physically see them outside the gum line?  Or is it just the slit?  Once they are physically thru the gum line and you see the tooth he should be ok unless more teeth are coming thru that you dont see yet.  If its just the slit it could take a few more days (or longer)  before it comes out.

    I can actually feel his teeth now- he bit me and they are sharp! So that means no more pain and maybe he's just getting used to waking up again- unless there's more teeth like you said. Thanks!! It's hard getting up again when you're used to baby sleeping.

    All of Ben's teeth have taken a good 3-4 weeks to come in from the time they poked through.  

    I know how you feel, he's got 4 of them that have been coming in for 2 weeks (or so) now and I've been up with him the last 2 nights.  I feel so bad for the little guy.   :(

    Oh trust me we are in teething HELL right now.  He cut two more bottom teeth in two weeks.  So now he has 4 on the bottom.  3 days ago we noticed his top ones coming thru.  Its right at the gum line you can see the white but its not thru.  This kid has STTN in a month.  I just want this over.  I hate seeing him in pain.
