I bought two new (maternity) bras ~12 weeks. Both my mom and the saleslady told me to only get two as I'd likely need to replace them again during pregnancy. I'm thinking that day is coming sooner rather than later, so I'll just get two new ones in the next size, and so on. Minimize the amount of money I'm spending but make sure I'm not super uncomfortable.
I wouldn't buy a whole bunch of new bras because your boobs will more then likely shrink after birth or breast feeding. I have 4 so ones on ones in the wash and there are 2 back ups just incase.
I am still squeezing into my regular bras, but I will need to buy up a size soon. I only plan on buying 2 inexpensive bras because I have no idea how much more they will grow.
There was a big sale in the maternity section of Babies R Us last weekend (70% off!) I don't know if they all have the same sales but I got 2 good quality maternity bras for $10 each!
I'm not much help cos I'm smaller in the boob dept. But what I did was buy a couple of nursing bras without cup size measurements (they use small/med/large) which gives me a bit more flexibility to grow. They are made by a company called Boob designs and are super comfy. I'm not sure how supportive they would be for larger chested ladies but could be worth a try.
I have no experience, but an experienced mom (mine) suggested I wait - if I can - until about month 7 to buy any new bras, and then buy a couple decent nursing bras. So, I'm still squeezing, more or less successfully, into my old bras for now.

My cup size doesn't seem to have changed much yet, but my ribs seem to be expanding so I bought bra extenders and they have helped me. (they have diff colors and ones for 2-hook or 3-hook bras.)

Mine are similar but from the Motherhood Maternity section in Macy's (and come in not as fun of colors, which works since I wear white tops so much). My boobs aren't terribly small and they have worked out nicely and are very comfortable.

Same here. My boobs grew initially, but I only bought two new bras just in case. Now it's my ribs expanding, and the bra extenders have been perfect for that.
I'm just skipping bras all together and letting 'em hang loose. Wooohooo!
Ok I'm kidding. That would be scary as hell for everyone. I buy a cheapo bra or two as needed which means I currently have a whole variety of sizes in my drawer.
I buy as needed, but just 2. I would rather be comfortable than wear a bra that doesn't fit. I figure I buy 2, so I have an extra while one is in the wash but no more since who knows when the girls will grow again and by how much. This has worked for me in past pregnancies.

I broke down and bought new bras a couple weeks ago, maybe just part of me was excited to own a "C" and not be cheating. I bought two packs at Target that were like $18 each so about $36 for 4 new bras was worth it to be comfortable and I don't care if they aren't going to last since sadly this nice rack won't either I know =(. You could also think about going the route of nursing bras since you would need them anyways assuming you are going to attempt to breastfeed. They fit well but I probably could grow a tiny bit more and still be ok but since I am no longer sore I think they are done changing for the time being
I had to buy 2 in the next size up. It kills me though because I have huge boobs so I can't go just buy cheapie bras. Target/Walmart doesn't carry my sizes. All my bras have to be ordered from speciality shops and cost SO MUCH!! I really hope the 2 I have can last me through the rest of this pregnancy.
first pregnancy..i got fitted every 3 months by a professional bra shop near me. It was a LIFESAVER for me!
I did change sizes throughout..i would only buy one or 2 bras at a time since my boobs are huge and the ones in my size are not cheap. I couldn't fit into anything at motherhood maternity etc. Nordstroms does sizing if you have one near you.
I held off on nursing bras. I think I bought one when I was 9 months pregnant. I was glad that I didn't drop alot of $ on them. My chest increased about 2 full cup sizes once my milk came in and I settled into BF. There was an underwire Anita brand that I loved in nursing bras and the Glamourmom tanks were awesome if you're fuller chested. A bunch of friends recommended Bravado products but they gave me no support and a big ole uni boob
Ok so Motherhood maternity and Boob designs. Any other recommendations? Brand names? Under wire, sports bras, particularly racer back styles? (I'm desperate can you tell?)
i just bought some extenders so i can continue wearing the bras i have......i am holding out as long as possible and hoping to get away wearing these till after baby is born and then buying a bunch of nice new ones and dumping these!!!
I'm a tomboy at heart and not very fashionable in general, plus with winter I'm wearing sweaters all the time. So, I just have been wearing sports bras always! I was smaller to start with so now they're sort of "normal" sized, but am still wearing my pre-preg sports bras and they are comfy.

Thank you for posting!!!
My ones from Motherhood have no underwire and are racerback. I think they come in regular straps too but the Macy's by me only had them in that style in light pink and I wanted tan. They also have removable padding.
I'm really glad I was able to find some without underwires- I know as your breasts get bigger and postpartum its good to have something you can wear even at night and I'd never get by with an underwire then.
@PinkKEL9 it sounds like we're in kinda the same boat. Luckily, I had lost weight before I got pregnant. So, my old bras were still a good size.
I'll go out this week and try to find two good bras.
I got mine from Lane Bryant. They have really good bras for bigger chested women. They sometimes run deals like buy 2 get 2 free. You should check there!
my friends suggested jumping right to nursing bras so I went out and purchased a few and my boobs have never been happier! Definitely worth it to have a comfortable bra.
