Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Things I can now (miserably) enjoy again

1. My seat warmer in my car (I was too paranoid to use it while pregnant because it gets very hot)
2. Deli meat
3. Sushi
4. Wine
5. Hot baths
6. Decent exercise

Anything I missed or people want to add?

TTC since 2010

Re: Things I can now (miserably) enjoy again

  • A night out with wine and not being so tired I will fall asleep at 8.
  • Loading the player...
  • COFFEE without feeling guilty about it.
When my best friend found out about  my miscarriage she ran right out and got me my favorite bottle of wine, and i plan on drinking the entire thing this weekend without sharing.

One way to turn a negative into a positive. Can't wait to have a cold beer! Pretty sure I will be sad though while I drink it. (Edited)
  • Diet Coke - which I gave up b/c of the caffeine and all the chemicals/artificial sweeteners, and Advil/Aleve, which I couldn't even take when I was miscarrying b/c I couldn't get out of the pregnant mindset to allow myself to take it for the pain/cramping b/c I was so used to telling myself it was bad for the baby. Actually just took some Advil for a headache tonight, and yeah, convenient but miserable that it's now ok.

  • I second the diet coke in vast amounts and the ibuprofen. I also didn't take anything for pain during my m/c because I thought it was bad for baby. Silly girl I should have brought out the big guns. Also loving the wine and margaritas.

No heartbeat at 8w4d. D&C scheduled for Jan 7, 14

  • Beer and Diet Coke for me.

I'm actually on the beer/wine, diet coke, and sugar diet until I get AF for the first time.  I will still enjoy these things after AF, but I will scale back (ex. not drink an entire bottle of wine by myself).

  • I'm with you on this one. I'm trying to look at the positives here. Alcohol, ibuprofen, deli sandwiches, a hot dog, roller coasters, sushi and more seafood top my lists. Probably the best consolation we can have. :-/
  • The maternity pants that I started wearing are loose and having a hard time staying up :(

  • My usual allergy medicine. Nice to know I can take whatever now
  • Starbucks lattes, sushi and WINE! I was also paranoid about taking baths (temp might be too hot etc.)..so now I'm enjoying those. Bittersweet I suppose but I'll take all the comfort I can get.
  • I took a bite of chocolate cake last night, and started to cry and told my husband that I wish I wasn't eating it because I would rather be pregnant again. (I was being super careful about eating healthy when pregnant.) That was the beginning of a huge crying jag.
I'm with all of you ladies, wish we could have a drink & hot dog together.
  • @lodenstein you're right it is bittersweet. I went with my husband to the gas station to get a giant coke... It was My first way of grieving, but was wishing that I wasn't in this situation. Just hoping for better things to come when I'm ready again:)
