This is a vent and may get long, just putting that out there. Backstory: The boys have almost always been good sleepers, and by that I mean we have always just put them down and walked away and let them fall asleep on their own. We weaned from the RNP about 7-8 weeks ago and never looked back. For about 6 of those weeks, both twins have been sleeping 9pm- at least 5:45 am. My work schedule necessitates that I keep them up that late (I don't get home til almost 8 and DH can't do baths and feedings and the bedtime ritual without help yet) and wake them at 5:45 some mornings and other mornings we sleep til 8am. They make up for the 5:45 mornings with a big morning nap at daycare. So there's the background. The last 3 nights neither baby has slept more than 1.5 hours at a stretch. I'm not sure if the waking is caused by wet diapers (Andrew has a butt rash) or hunger (they will always nurse in the MOTN) or the other twin crying (although they are capable of sleeping through that, they've done it). Literally nothing has changed except last week Andrew had an ear infection and for the first couple of days of that he slept great. They have loveys and sleep on their tummies of their own volition.
Any thoughts on why my good sleepers changed their minds? Babies gonna baby, maybe. But I can't. I work 3 12 hour shifts a week and I'm in school. I need as much brain as I can have and they're killing it. Also, DH and my parents are leaving town for the same week on Saturday and I can't. Sorry if I post and run, I'm at work. I mostly just needed to vent, but thoughts/suggestions are welcome.
TL; DR - my kids used to sleep and now they don't, nothing changed except the sleep, and I'm miffed and grumpy.
