  Frustrating!! I can totally see my MIL doing that too. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she has already made a few "discrete" announcements of her own, like to her brother, etc.

  My MIL told a few people weeks ago. She claimed it was an "accident" though. Uh, if people are coming over to your house don't leave out framed sono pics.

   Me (34)- no issues found MH (36)- MFI due to Vericocele. Straight to IVF w/ICSI 9/12, Antagonist. 9R, 7M, 5F = BFN c/p,  New RE for IVF #2- 1/13., Long Lupron. ER on 1/22 -10R, 9M, 9F. Transfer on hold due to overstimming. FET in Feb. 2 frozen blasts. Another BFN & another c/p. RPL testing all negative besides MTHFR gene, vericocle repair surgery 4/12/13-Bilateral Grade 3 Vericocele found & fixed, IVF #3 with PGS  4/13- 11R, 9M, 9F. Transferred 2 normal=BFN, 3 normal on ice. CCRM-here we come! ODWU-All test results normal. EPP in August. 21R, 20M, 19F. 12 blasts biopsied & frozen for CCS testing. Results showed 11 normal! FET Oct. 30. 2 5d 4AA blasts transferred. First ever BFP!!! Beta 1=216, Beta 2=870 1st U/S=It's TWINS!!!   8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 

  ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
  IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!

  I think you had every right to ask her to take it down. This is not anyone else's news to share. Period. I get all wound up about that kind of stuff - Moms and MILs tend to be the worst! What, is she gonna announce to everyone when you go into labor too (don't be surprised if she does)? Argh, I am irritated for you!
  
  And what are 60+ year olds doing on FB? I just don't get it, but I am not a FB fan for these reasons
  
  ETA: Congrats on coming out of the pg closet! It's a huge milestone!!

  IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
  #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN

  H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!

  I would be pissed too. My family started spreading the news at 6 weeks and I was livid. It took us so long to get pregnant it was 1) our news to share and 2) something I was terrified of sharing! It's tough because the family is really excited and happy in their own way, but they need filters to know what is or isn't appropriate.
  
  That being said... in a few weeks, it won't even be a big deal anymore when we're out of the PG closet completely and everyone is all up to date. It's good you're laying the boundaries now though so that they know what they can/can't post when it comes to L&D and your children down the line.

  That's really annoying! We've had the same problem with our family. Mybcousin even told one of my friends because she's friends with her mom, even though we were ONLY announcing to family at that point AND It's MY announcement! I'm still peeved about it.

  Oh no! Why can't she let you have the spotlight!? It's such a special thing hers could have certainly waited to let you guys get to relish in it for a bit. It's your news, after all!!! She didn't go to the RE to make this happen, last time I checked!

  I'm glad you felt empowered to ask her to remove them - good for you.  I'm also glad she did as you asked - she probably felt like she was following your wishes, as she waited until after you announced it - technically, LOL.  It's perfectly okay for you to want that moment!  At the same time, it's also wonderful that your MIL is so excited about her new grandbabies.  Sounds like your babies will be so very loved all the way around.

  I'm with you girl!  But I do give your MIL credit for actually taking it down.  Good for you for standing up to her and asking her to do that, it's definitely your moment to shine!

  My mom told EVERYONE who would listen when I explicitly told her we were keeping it a secret until 12 weeks. It's different when it's your MIL though- you have to create and make clear those boundaries without making her feel excluded. I think you did a great job and she maybe didn't think it through all the way, plus as PP said it's really better for everyone involved if you establish early on that this is your pregnancy and ultimately you and your husband get to make decisions about what's best for your family.

   Clomid w/IUI cycle #1& 2=BFN

  Gonal-f w/ IUI cycle #3: 150 IU/day, IUI 12/16=BFP! Beta#1=175 on 12/30, beta#2=950 on 1/3, beta #3=9035 on 1/9; first U/S 1/17 showed one beautiful heartbeat @ 114,  second U/S on 1/24 hr=156 and everything perfect!

  I made sure to be very specific with everyone about what we were comfortable with in terms of the announcement, and I'm trying to do the same again now that we're approaching the birth. (I can just see certain family members posting about it on FB before we even get a chance.) So just as a heads up, you may want to set ground rules with them AGAIN down the road when it comes to announcing the birth!! And the sex, if you're planning on announcing that, too!

  that stinks. MILs (just mine) rub me the wrong way.  i've learned with her we have to give her specific instructions - do and do not do this.  otherwise i think she'd be clueless.

  I've thought about having to set boundaries with them again for the birth. There are some situations that I know would send me over the edge so I'll have to nip those in the bud. Luckly I have to deliver in an OR whether I have a CS or am able to deliver vaginally so I won't have to worry about feelings being hurt over not being allowed in the delivery room. I'll just have my OB and the nurses say only DH is allowed, even if their policy allows 2 people.
