Parenting after a Loss

****Healthy Living Check In****

Hi ladies! Next week it will be Sunday as I start my new job. I hope everyone is doing well. I've been pretty busy this past week dealing with the cold weather and trying to get things ready for the new job, plus we're selling the cradle today. :( I wasn't really ready for that & I guess that just finalizes that we're done in some ways. It's crazy I know.

Anyone can join this check in that's wanting to make healthier choices. I'm not picky you don't have to do weight watchers or some crazy diet to join in.

-How successful were you this week with your goals?  What areas did you struggle this week?

-How much activity did you get in this week?

-Are you wanting to change things up to reach your goal?

  • -How successful were you this week with your goals?  What areas did you struggle this week?
I was somewhat successful with my goals...no french fries or salad dressing, but I struggled and I had cheese on my chilli. It was made out of organic beef, so that counts right. ;) The rest of the stuff in it wasn't so probably not so much. I'm down only 7 lbs this month so it was a little frustrating.

-How much activity did you get in this week?
I got in a few mall walks and took the boys out on Sunday to the book store. They had a pretty good time. I wish we could go outside but there is no stroller that can go over ice coated with snow and then more ice. :( Oh yeah-we got more snow today.

-Are you wanting to change things up to reach your goal?
I'd really like to find time to go to the gym again. Very unlikely and I don't trust the Gym childcare. I'm also trying to wean DS completely. My weight dropped off with DS1 when I stopped BF- so clearly BF does not help me drop weight at all for whatever reason with my body.

-How successful were you this week with your goals? What areas did you struggle this week?  I finally got my gym membership and new running shoes!  Besides drinking with some friends on Friday and Saturday, I would say it was a very successful week.  And strangely enough, working out really did make me more motivated to get stuff done around my house as well.  I did struggle with eating healthy, but I've definitely cut down on the fast food.

-How much activity did you get in this week?  I got on the treadmill 3 times this past week, then went for a trail run on Saturday morning.  My legs are still burning today, but I have my gym bag packed and ready to go after work before I pick up DD from daycare.

-Are you wanting to change things up to reach your goal?  Yes and no.  I want to do more outside runs but don't have the time like I do after work to just hit the treadmill.  For now, I'll have to stick to running outside on weekends until the weather is nicer.

GTKY: What's your favorite "healthy" adult drink?  I guess it's water.  Right now, all I want is a giant Dr. Pepper but that's not exactly healthy.  Water is my go-to and milk is a close 2nd.  We drink way too much milk in my house.

  • @FmrAFBrat Good job and no fries or dressing. Cheese is also a struggle for me. I've started slowly decreasing the amount of cheese, then I hope I can just skip it altogether soon.  And that Chardonnay Spritzer sounds great!

@Michbot12 11lbs is awesome! Great job!
