Pregnant after 35

Intro and Question

Hi everyone.   I just found out I am about 4 weeks pregnant for the first time:)  My husband and I are very excited. Anyway, I have been having a lot of hip pain.  Is this normal?  I can not seem to get comfortable.

Re: Intro and Question

  • Congratulations and welcome.  I don't remember having hip pain that early, but that doesn't mean it isn't normal.   I hope you find comfort soon.

  • Congrats! The best thing anyone told me was that if it's weird and it happens while you're pregnant, it's a pregnancy thing! My hip has hurt quite a bit on and off this pregnancy. It's my sciatic nerve being squished. It could be that your posture has changed. I like The Miracle Ball Method for Pregnancy. It's a book of stretches and exercised and two grapefruit-sized balls you can lay on. They've helped. :)
  • Thanks!  I will have to look into that!

  • Congratulations!  My hips hurt on occasion now don't remember it being that early on... hope you have a wonderful pregnancy
  • Congratulations! Like the others, my hip pain is on and off but did not start until 2nd tri. Take it easy if you can and mention to your doctor at your first visit. And stay hydrated! It seems like the answer to 95% of issues is to drink more water!
