Re: Olympics

  • I haven't been watching, but i will probably try to catch the figure skating.

Our local radio station said some of the hotel accommodations were HORRIBLE. Like no water, no linens, some didn't even have all the furniture.
  • Loading the player...
  • You better hurry ;)  There's already been a lot of figure skating on.

I'm a huge Olympics fan. I just love, love, love it all... this is totally two awesome weeks for me.
My daughter has Olympics homework, too, so she's been watching because she is supposed to keep count of the medal counts for the USA.  We have both loved watching together!

I think that's cute that you guys have a mommy/daughter activity!!
  • I caught some cross-country skiing yesterday but that's it so far.  I'll probably try to tune into some bobsledding, luging, and speed-skating if I remember to set the PVR.
  • I've been watching here and there.

Yulia (can't remember her last name), the fifteen year old figure skater from Russia was amazing. I always get anxious watching the figure skating because I'm afraid they are going to fall!
BEAUTIFUL skater. So young. Her spins were crazy fast and flexible.
The snowboarding makes me more nervous, they DO fall. Like all the time.

We haven't watched any of the snowboarding yet. That would make me nervous too.

I really like watching the speed skating as well. Oh, and curling!
Check out snowboarding if you wanna see falls, yikes!  I would say every other one falls, especially the women.  It's been rare to see two in a row that had perfect runs with no falls.  Usually they are harmless (well to them, they all look bad to me) but last night a girl fell and hit her head first.. helmet cracked.  Ugh!  My DD closes her eyes for the snowboarders and says "mom, they're nuts. It doesn't look fun to fall so much!" :P

    I like speed skating tooooo.

  • Love most of it....speed skating, freestyle skiing, bobsled, x-country... :)
  • I love the olympics, but I'm having a really hard time watching it this year because of all of the other crap with Russia.  I've caught bits and pieces here and there, mostly with the ski jumping and figure skating.  I do want to watch some of the curling and hockey coverage, because I always love watching those sports, in addition to figure skating and some of the others.
I'm not happy with the location, either.  But it's not bothering the athletes- so I guess I feel it shouldn't get in the way of me watching them live those dreams.  That's just me, though :)  I would have a hard time not watching.. I love them SO much.
