So this afternoon I was at DDs gymnastics invitational and was standing for 1.5 hours. At the end of it...I suddenly felt light headed and my ears started ringing...a sure thing that I was about to pass out. Luckily, DS was with us so I sat down on the floor with him and was able to "cover up" that anything was wrong. It passed after I sat there for a while. Only thing I (and my father who is a family practitioner) can come up with is that I was standing too long. Anyone else have this? What did you do to prevent it? I'm a teacher so standing is part of the job. Didn't have this with my other pregnancies! TIA!
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!
Re: Anyone else light headed or fainting?
Dehydration
Iron levels
Blood sugar
You need to get your blood pumping again
Mention it a your next appointment so they can check your iron. Keep sugary snacks and a bottle of water on hand. Try to move around and not stand still for too long. Also wear layers you can remove quickly, as I find it happens a lot when i over heat. Don't be afraid of having to lie down in public. I've thrown myself across train seats before now. It's much better than hitting the deck.
