Cruddy Day

DS is having a rough day. Ones without naps are good like that.

Having one of those moments where I feel like a lousy mom for not knowing how to help him.. or in some cases what he wants at that given moment.

Seriously doubting this whole talking thing with him. I know chances are good given his age and improvements...but it feels like the improvements are so fleeting. He will say something several times, spontaneously and in context, and then I wont hear it again for a month. I just would like to have some semblance of a conversation with him...or at least have him be able to tell me where he hurts when he is sick.

Sorry for the vent. Needed to let it out somewhere, and with dh deployed you guys were the ones that would understand best.

I'm sorry you are having a rough day! I completely understand. My DS only became verbal 3 months ago. It will get better and as he goes through therapy, these bad days will likely become fewer and far between! Big hugs!

Thank you so much for responding. Our sons are just a handful of months apart in age (mine is 2 yrs 4 mos if you are mobile). Hearing that your son has had a recent big improvement gives me hope. I know that each kid is different and all that...but hearing a happy story is what I needed tonight. Thank you.
