Bought a bedding set but I don't love it..

I was at BRU today and scored a bedding set on clearance for $29 down from $160. This one:

The problem is, I don't love it, it's cute but it's not something I would pick if it hadn't been on clearance. I think I just bought because I was existed about the price. Now that I'm home I feel like I'm overthinking it :/
Would you guys keep it because I was cheap, or return it and get what I really want?

  • I would return it and get what you really want. A good deal isn't really a deal at all if it's not something you need or want. I totally understand the impulse though!

  • I would keep it. Maybe someone you know might like it.

  • We're not getting a bedding set at all just crib sheets. When we actually need bedding we'll get something affordable and cute. You could always wait for a good deal you love since baby can't be using most of the stuff for awhile.

That's what I'm thinking, too. Maybe I'll see if I get the set that is on my registry at my shower in 3 weeks and then decide.

That's another thing I was thinking about. The set is 9 pieces, including a valence that I won't use and things like wall hangings and a diaper stacker that I don't necessarily need. I'm registered for a small set, just matching sheets, dust ruffle and quilt (which I know I won't use for a while, if ever). Maybe I should just return it for a few sheets that I know I will use.

  • I'd keep it bc it was cheap and I can customize pretty much anything to my liking. It's just bedding. Not everyone even has the luxury of buying a full set.

  • If you don't like it there is no harm in returning it.
  • Can you sell it on ebay or Craigslist for say, $50?  Then you've made something extra to put towards the set you really want.  I'd try this first.
  • Personally I'd keep it because of the money I saved but that's me.

If your having second thoughts though, return it and get what you wanted :)
  • I've just always done crib sheets since that's all we use.  I just get a few of those and call it a day!  Plus, with a full bedding set, at least in our house, it would never match.  After the fourth blowout of the night the last thing I worry about as I'm stripping down the crib mattress again is whether or not my sheets match or are cute.

  • It's very pretty. I'm the same way. Sometimes I can't pass on the sale and then regret buying it. Keep the one you want on your registry. When someone else buys it you won't feel so bad returning the other one.
  • Id take it back if I were you!

  • If you don't love it, I think you should return it. That being said, I think it's adorable!
  • Your baby won't care what it looks like. It's more to please you so I would go with something you're happy with :)
  • I kinda like it.  I'd probably keep it.

I'd keep it at least as a backup because for $30 you never know when what you have will get pooped or thrown up on (and destroyed)!

  • I did the same. Got a set at BRU for $30 and although it wasn't what I was going for at all, I'm gonna keep it because I really want to quit my job and spending the $250 on the set I really wanted is not necessary as I've learned from our first little one! He never slept in there until he was 14 months and then 8 months later we converted to a big boy bedding and changed his entire room!

  • I would try to sell it on craigslist or see if there is local kids stuff sale page in your area on Facebook. If you don't sell it in a week or to take it back bsd spend the money on the set you want.

  • I would return it and just get sheets...bedding sets don't get used for the most part.

I would either A) Take it back because I don't love it and that's wasted money imo cause I'm cheap. Or B) Convince myself that I love it because thats a great deal and I'm cheap

    It's a BOY

  • I'd return it. I wouldn't want the nursury decorations dictated by what the store had on sale.
  • Maybe try and resale on ebay or craigslist... try n make a profit off of it is what I would do!
