Falling in love with my SO in a totally new way....AWish

So let me just start by saying my husband is a complete jokester. He is totally laid back and makes EVERYTHING into a silly joke. I love this and he is exactly what I need in my life because I am incredibly high strung. That being said I've come to except that sentimental cutsie things are just not him and I don't expect them. When we first found out we were expecting he was excited but it didn't really click with him. ( He didn't touch my tummy, want to talk about names etc.) In the last two weeks though my belly has really popped and we found out we are having a boy! He has just come full circle and is in complete daddy/supportive husband mode. He goes to the store to buy crazy cravings anytime, brought me home flowers, came to bed and just started rubbing my back (without being asked) started rubbing my tummy and talks about being a daddy decorating the nursery etc.! I understand that this is probably what most SO do but to me it's just so sweet! It's like I am getting the chance to fall in love with him all over again in a totally new way. So I just wanted to start a thread recognizing our SO and find out is anyone else seeing there SO in a new light?

  • Sounds exactly like my husband. He's totally changed over the last couple of months. Sweetest thing ever!

My husband is the same as ever. He braved our severely flooded basement yesterday and cleaned it all up, including a flooded litter box (yuck!) and carpeting. He fixes all the issues I don't know how to
fix. He cooks me delicious dinner. No, he's not getting sentimental over the baby. If he tried rubbing my back out of nowhere, it would be surprising, and getting flowers would also be a shock. We joke about terrible name choices for the baby still...but he's immensely helpful and wonderful (as always) and I love him for that!
  • I know what you mean. DH is always thoughtful but we don't buy each other things or shower each other with affection. Lately though he's been nesting more than I have. He's been slowly getting rid of things to make room for the baby. He moved the lawn mower from its original spot because "as your belly gets bigger you don't need to be playing twister to get into the car" which is something I never would have thought of.

  • I love my man but he is NOT the kind of guy who buys me chocolates and flowers "just because." That being said, he bought me some stretch mark cream and has been rubbing it on my belly every night (it's actually making them lighter, surprisingly!) and he gave me a foot rub the other night which he has NEVER done before...so that's cool :)

  • I completely agree. DH has become very protective of me and the baby. He talks to baby boy every night and even planned a "Baby Logan Weekend". ♡
