People are stupid (linked article) and vent

Someone reported this woman to Children's Protective Services for bringing her newborn to a city council meeting (small town) to breast feed. Thanks for wasting CPS's time nose-butting douche-canoe.

The worst part is, if she had left baby at home with dad and some formula someone else probably would have (unfairly) called her a bad mom for doing that.

  • Wow - I'm not sure that stupid is a strong enough word.

  • "We actually think she's an outstanding role model for other women who may be interested in running for politics who may have children or may be considering having children."

    Bravo!

  • While the person who reported her is clearly completely ridiculous, the fact that this happened has brought more publicity to what she is doing, and while that is not why she is doing it I think it's great for shedding some light on the possibility of more opportunities for women in politics.

Also, I live in this 'small town', never would have considered it a small town, but I guess compared to Toronto.

  • Shame on CPS for even accepting the call. CPS has the right to make a judgement whether or not they will even accept the report.

I meant Oakville as a small town in terms that attending a council meeting in Oakville wouldn't be as loud/dramatic as a big city meeting would be. Not like it's small in size or how some small towns are really old fashioned or anything like that.

Well no, it says in the article that by law they have to follow up EVERY call no matter how frivolous.  She even says they made that very clear.
