37 Weeks 3 cm Dilated and 50% effaced

Yesterday I was having contractions every 5 min. My doctor told me to go to Labor and Delivery once checked I was 2cm and 40% I started to have stronger more intense contractions 2-2.5min apart. I was checked again and told I was 3CM and 60% effaced. Kept monitoring and stayed the night. Contractions slowed down and became less intense. At 7 this Am my doctor checked me to see if there were any changes. She said im the same and actually the baby has moved up. I was released and have spent the rest of the day resting. I am now having A LOT of pressure with some spread out contractions. Def feels like somethings happening, just trying to make sense of whats going on. HELP

    It wouldn't hurt to keep in regular contact with your dr. If things change. Labor doesn't always fit into a 10-20 hour time frame.This could go on for days or weeks or start back up soon and be the real deal. Not even your dr can determine at this point. If the contractions are evenly timed out for an hour or longer, get gradually stronger, or your water breaks, then it's safe to say you are in real labor. I wouldn't feel discouraged, if this drags out you don't want to spend all that time in the hospital anyway. You never said how far along you are, but walking a lot will kick things up a bit if you're really ready to go.

    Sounds like false or early labor to me--despite the fact that things were progressing at first. Get walking.
