Staying calm - updated

I'm starting to have a little bit of bleeding today and I'm trying not to panic. It happened twice today and it's red, but thin like its mixed with mucus. The on-call doc told me to wear a pad, keep an eye on it, and if its soaking through pads to call back and have to go into triage. Great. I haven't had sex in ages, so its not like anything is irritating my cervix to make it bleed. So I'm trying to keep it together and not worry. I've felt the baby move today, so I guess that's good.

Of course I had an epic fight with my husband this morning, so I've been pretty upset all day today anyway. He's at his mother's with DS to give me some space, so I'm home alone right now. I'm not looking forward to telling him about this. He'll panic. Plus we still need to talk about a lot of things when he gets home. Now I'll have to put up with all of his self-blame and dramatics. Plus I'm feeling a little of my own guilt. I had bleeding one time in the fifth week with DS and it was right after a fight with DH. Is that strange? I'm just trying right now not to get my stress level up and its not working.

ETA: Bleeding has stopped. DH and I made up, I guess. We still have a lot of issues to work through, but I just didn't have the energy last night. He didn't panic like I thought he would over the bleeding, which was nice. I'm supposed to be on pelvic rest, so there goes the idea of make up sex. I have an OB appointment on Wednesday so I'm hoping they can give me a little more info.

Stay calm sweetie. Drink lots of fluid and keep your feet up. I'll say a quick prayer it stops soon. Did you have a hard bowel movement lately? That has caused a bit of bleeding for me.

@cakebatter27 I had a hard bowel movement last night, so I guess that could be the problem. I've had more difficult ones than that though. Here's hoping its just a poop causing the problems!

I've had that happen too, sounds silly but check to be positive where the bleeding is coming from.

I've had anal bleeding from larger poops (both pregnant and not pregnant, lucky me) and this is definitely vaginal this time.

Stay positive, use this as excuse to cuddle in bed and watch a movie with your little one. Hopefully it's just stress, try to keep calm and relax!

You still could've irritated your cervix from straining too much during a bm. This happened to me twice with this pregnancy, pretty recently too. You could've done too much too, which caused some bleeding during my son's pregnancy. I'll be paying for you!

I was actually going to ask about a rough bowel movement too... I had some vaginal bleeding similar to what you are describing yesterday. Nurse said it was probably from irritating my cervix from straining. Hope that's all it is for you too! Positive thoughts coming your way.

This is why I love the Bump. Here I was imagining all kinds of horrible scenarios, but now I'm starting to think its just because of a large crap! I love you ladies! Thanks for all the positive thoughts.

Mine was vaginal too. The ob said you can irritate the cervix from straining.

I had bleeding last week. I did have it after a bm, but I also have a low placenta that most likely caused it.

I just had a couple spotting incidents last week after straining to go to the bathroom. I also had some intermittent cramping throughout the week. They did an ultrasound at my 16-week appointment on Friday to check my cervix and everything was fine. I wouldn't worry, especially if your doctor isn't making a big deal about it. Hope it stops soon though, I know how startling it can be!

I agree with some of the initial posts if it wasn't the BM. Any bleeding I have had has been from stress when fighting with the husband. Hope we get an update that everything is okay!
