Hi! Melissa here. 40 years old with a 21 month old daughter. Hubby is 39. Married for 3.5 years, dated for two years before that and knew each other since our teens. We have two rabbits and a dog (all rescues). We have always wanted to have another kidlette but we were waiting to see where we were at when our daughter was one. Things have been rough since we got pregnant the first time (our house was robbed while evacuated for hurricane Irene, unemployment/underemployment and related money problems, and house flooded in hurricane Sandy). I'm a few months shy of 41. We've been talking about TTC but here's why I'm hesitant:
we are broke but both working on changing that. I'm applying for higher paying positions and hubby is looking for full time where he works or a second job.
though I am close to my pre-preg weight it's still much higher than my healthy weight range.
our house is only a 2 bedroom and the chance of selling anytime soon is pretty slim (the whole flood-zone thing, even though it was just our crawl space that flooded, we have a couple of neighbors right around us that are not rebuilding).
Part of me wants to just throw caution to the wind and start TTC #2 but the other part of me wants to be more rational and realistic. tick tick tick

I hope your husband gets a full time job so that will take a lot of the pressure off you.
If you do decide to go for #2 just remember the hectic, crazy time is only for a few years. I feel like when they start school everything gets easier. For me a few years of chaos is worth a lifetime of love.
Good luck with your decision.

Welcome, and very best of luck whatever you decide. You're definitely not alone-I'm also TTC #2, even though the situation isn't perfect (as if it ever is).
But yeah, tick tock. It kind of feels like it's now or never, so we decided that in the long run having another child in our family, and a sibling for DD, was worth whatever hardships we experienced short term.
