  • A is too smart for her own good... she will only take a pacifier in the car or at daycare. If she knows I'm home, or Hubs is, pouf, no way.

  • Nope. I think I waited too long to introduce it because I was new at BFing and worried about nipple confusion. I don't really care that she doesn't take one.

  • No, he sucks his fingers to soothe himself.

  • She used to only take it while she was crying in the car. Occasionally at first I could switch out my nipple for one if she was asleep. Now never but she chews/sucks on her security blanket
  • He will take it always if he is tired. If he's pretty awake, he will take it, pop it out and play with it, put it back in when he feels like it.
  • DD1 never took it so I didn't even try with DD2. DD1 used me as a pacifier on many occasions. DD2 not so much so it isn't so bad this time around

+1. And he didn't take them until 3-4 months old.

  • Another SS - she was addicted to them until she found she loves sucking on her fingers around 5 mos. we haven't used a paci since.

  • Both my boys would only take them in certain situations, a certain style, and for just a short time before they gave up all together. I was the paci for DS1 but DS2 is happy to chew on anything and doesn't have as strong a drive to suck on things.

  • My guy takes one when sleeping, and sometimes if he gets fussy at night, you can get him to keep sleeping by giving it to him. I recently found out that they have never had to give him one at daycare, which shocked me. He naps without one there, but always seems to need one to fall asleep at home.
  • Never took one. We have a finger sucker.

  • My baby loves her pacifier. Sometimes it's the only thing that will calm her down, been that way since she was born. Eventually I'm going to try to phase it out to use only at night for sleep.
  • I took his away at 6 months. He was dependent on it to sleep, and it was becoming a nightmare because he was constantly spitting it out and then waking up crying for us to put it back in. I'm glad it's gone. Lol
