We are about due for a new carseat. LO's right now is very uncomfortable for her. I want something that has very easy to adjust shoulder straps, convertible style, can fit in a small SUV/Crossover and not super expensive. Suggestions?
I currently have a safety 1st and the straps are flimsy. I am thinking I may have gotten a defective one without realizing it. I got it on clearance awhile ago and now it is just a fail. It is also way complicated rear facing.
DS is big for his age (85-95th %ile) - the Britax are really built for smaller babies, especially those without long torsos. We have a Boulevard, and we just replaced it with the chicco nextfit. DS1 will go into the Nextfit, while DS2 will move into the Boulevard once the winter is through. Nextfit is good for smaller back seats.
DH has the Diono Radian, and it's great. Easy in/out and made for taller/longer babies. The radian is also great in smaller cars. DH has it in the back of his f150 extend-cab.

My daughter is in the 98th percentile for height so that is good to know. I also saw the radian can be converted into a booster later on, so that might be a good long term investment.

The Radian is a good investment - think it goes up to 100lbs
We have the Maxi Cosi Pria. Lola is in the 99th percentile for height and 98 percentile for weight. This car seat goes up to I think 70 pounds and can hold a pretty tall child safely. It is also really plush. It is a little bit more bulky but we have never had any trouble taking it in and out.
Eta: we did have it in my Subaru Forester and now I have it in a Ford Flex. My husband has one in his trailblazer. It has fit in all three cars.
We have the britax advocate and she seems pretty comfy in it. It fits well in our SUV but this seat is huge. I'm not sure how well it would fit into a smaller car. If we ever need a second seat I think we'll go for a cheaper britax. This one was really expensive and enormous so it's kind of a pain when we need to get it in and out of the car.
Re: New Carseat
We have a britax pavilion and an evenflo symphony (what ever the upper model is) I prefer the britax

We use the same seat for DD#1 and she is about 34lbs and 37in (she's 3). She is FF, but still fits comfortably.
