Cloth Diapering

Did you go up a size?

Just curious.. Did your LO go up a size in clothing bc of the bulkiness of the CD's?
LO is due in May..I've been buying a lot of 3 mo summer clothing but I'm wondering if maybe I should start buying 6 mo if his little hiney is going to be bulkier.
He is measuring right in the 50th% so he should be about an average size NB (whereas DS was 4.11oz and 3 weeks premature).

Nope, never. DD still needed NB sizes until 6-8 weeks, and we've never had to go up in size because of CDs.

ETA: this question was literally asked about 4 threads down....

  • I had to. I started at 2 months though, so i didn't cd a nb.

My guy is small, 7.5 months and 15 lbs. He can still wear 6 month clothes, but i have him in 9 months because of his booty.

  • My CD's (OS AIOs) were a little bulky when she was in NB clothes, but she only fit in those for 2 days anyhow. Since then we've had to go up sizes because of her height but never her CDs.

    Actually, it's 8 threads. I counted.

My son actually out grew the length in his newborn and three month size sleepers.

  • I wear a 2 in some stores and a 4 or 6 in others. Shockingly enough the same goes for my kids. Depends on what it is. Sleepers, onesies, pants, etc.

Threads move. I can go make them right next to each other if you'd like.

They don't move around on me...
  • You must not have them sorted by most recent.

  • @Mapleme - Yep! I'm a Reese Witherspoon/Hayden Panettiere hybrid. Don't listen if @stoneycakes tries to convince you I'm a 48-year-old, 250 lb. chain-smoker from Arkansas. She's got a mean streak. ;)

In all seriousness, I am short enough that my healthy size would be a 4, but the best I did after I had DS was squeeze into a 6 with serious muffin topage. The pre-bump blump is really wreaking havoc on my self-esteem these days.

You have three children, and you are a single-digit size? I'm trying very hard not to hate you right now. ;)

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

  • No. DD actually just outgrows the clothes in length, I've never had a fit issue due to CD butt (we use prefolds and covers). She's a big baby (born at 9lbs 3oz) and she's gaining weight quickly so she is rapidly moving through clothing sizes. She is transitioning to 3-6 month clothes right now actually.
