I don't post over here, but I thought it might be helpful to share my repeat section and skin to skin success during the operation.
I'll start by saying my first c was such a disappointment to me due to delayed skin to skin, breast feedings and blood sugar problems with baby, anesthesia problems with me. Needless to say, I was very apprehensive about my repeat c.
My scheduled c was 12/19. I was able to discuss my birth plan (skin to skin on or table, zofran after baby was born, delayed cleaning/bathing, etc) with my practitioners. Nurses, doctors and anesthesiologist appeared supportive but apprehensive as they'd never done it before and space is limited in the room.
Long story short, they laid my sweet girl on my chest directly after birth. They suctioned her, applied eye ointment and did vitamin k shot all while she was doing skin to skin. The nurses helped me attempt to breastfeed on the table but it wasn't successful because I was just too flat on the table. They took her to wrap her up to go to recovery after the surgery was complete. I can't even begin to describe how amazing it was to have her with me like that. I feel so connected and bonded with her, which is so unlike my first experience.
Sweet Anneliese Miriam was born at 12:24 PM.
Don't give up hope on birth plans for c sections because they are possible!
