Pay no mind to the crazy Mama.

I am currently in the process of trying to blow up an air mattress and sneak it into DS' room so I can sleep close to him. I can't pull him into our bed. It's not something we've ever done, so if he woke up he would be pretty pissed and would not go back to sleep there. But our video monitor crapped out for some reason, and it's on it's way to Canada for warranty repair or replacement.  I can't see him. I can only hear him hacking every hour or so. I went in to check on him and he is breathing so fast and shallowly because he is so, so congested. It's just an ear infection, and he's not even sleeping poorly in the sense that he's not fussing or waking up for short periods. But he's the sickest he's ever been and the 5 feet apart our bedrooms are feels just too far tonight...

Re: Pay no mind to the crazy Mama.

  • I've done the same thing when DD was sick. But without the air mattress. I basically made a nest of blankets next to her crib.

My back was not happy with me in the morning. :-p

  • Poor LO! Have you considered making a bed of blankets? Might the air mattress 'squeak' too much when you move around at night? Either way, I hope the night goes well. And that LO feels better soon!
  • lol Well, funny thing. I got the mattress blown up, and I was just about to pull it into his room. I opened the door and he woke up. Which is ironic, because I had to get the air mattress out of his closet and he didn't even stir for that. Anywho, I rubbed his back for a minute and tried to sneak out, and he let me without a fuss. On my way out, he said, "Ya ya."  Which I'm pretty sure means, "Ya ya, my mom is kuckoo. Leave me alone and go to your own bed." So at the risk of disturbing him anymore, I think I'll have a glass of wine and try to calm myself down lol. Co-dependency classes, anyone?
    :P
