Today was SUPPOSED to be my baby shower. But, snow has forced my good friend's hand to cancel.... 2 inches of snow and still falling hard, plus gail force winds and we live on a mountain side. She has rescheduled it for next weekend but, both my Dr and my midwife think baby will make her entrance into the world before Valentines day... I tend to agree with them as I have been contracting regularly for about a week and a half now and have progressively gotten more dilated at each appointment (less than a week apart because of my BP) and am mostly effaced already....  UGH. So I'm just bummed. My friend said that if baby makes her debut before the shower she will turn it into a 'sip n see' but, I'm just bummed I was really looking forward to the shower. Damned hormones are getting the best of me. 

On a side note: did anybody have any strange cramping feeling that goes from their back to their stomach and then down into the thighs? the back to stomach feels like the contractions I've been having but, the into my thighs is a new bit that started this morning...

    Aww I am so sorry! That really stinks. I would have been bummed too.

    I am also useless when it comes to your second question. I haven't had that so far- at least thigh wise.

    Yeah me neither so I figured I would ask anyways. Oh well. Looks like a popcorn and a movie kinda day as we are now up to 3 almost 4 inches of snow now :/ ugh... Really hope baby doesn't decide she needs to show up today...

    I'm sorry - that is a bummer. Winter weather ruins everything. We've gotten a foot+ each day since Wednesday and will continue to get that much daily until Monday. It sucks big time, especially since DH is OOT. My MIL arrives tonight and I'm dreading having to drive to pick her up. Up until this week I hadn't driven in snow in 7 years.

    I've got the back/front/thighs contractions going on. I'm sorry about your shower! That sucks. I hope you can enjoy your relaxing night in :)

    Contractions going down to the thighs is fairly typical according to the nurse who ran my childbirth class. Sorry about your shower! I would totally be upset too, but youll eventually get your special day.
