June 2013 Moms

Need some help...

I had my baby girl via C-Section in June. She's 7 months old now and I have two questions to see if anyone else is experiencing this:

1). I was not thin prior to my pregnancy but I managed to get back to my pre pregnancy weight, but it seems like all of a sudden (within the last 2 months) my upper tummy area looks like a small baby bump. Is this the dreaded spare tire?

2). After my C-Section, I was given iron pills to take because I became anemic. However, 7 months later I still feel like crap. I can sleep all night and still be on the verge of exhaustion the next day with NO energy. I only temporarily feel better after eating sugar, my hands & feet are always cold and my hair is still falling out too. I've had all types of blood work (thyroid normal, one test said not anemic the other did). I went to another doctor and now he's sending me for tests on my heart. I'm also thinking this might be a touch of depression. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Need some help...

  • I'm not sure about number 2, but as for number 1 goes, I've definitely experienced some fatness. GL.

  • Are you positive your thyroid levels are normal? You sound very symptomatic for hypothyroid. How about vitamin D?

  • I didn't mean to offend or upset anyone. This is my first visit on here since I had my baby and I decided to reach out to other Moms, thought this would be a good outlet.
My name is Sara, I'm 31 years old and have one daughter, named Aubrey who's almost 8 months old. She was delivered via C-Section after my labor was induced and after a day and a half of labor and the epidural wearing on & off.
My thyroid was tested in September from my PCP and came back in normal range, but I wasn't feeling any better. I just kept getting told, "It's b/c you had a baby." I knew it was more then that b/c Aubrey sleeps through the night. I changed PCPs last week and he's sending me for new blood work and the whole nine yards.
I'm not looking for a diagnosis, just wanted to see if any other moms felt this way.

It's very nice to meet all of you.
