1st Trimester

Is it normal to worry?!

I am newly pregnant-about 4 weeks (positive pregnancy test on Friday, and last period jan 3). Anyways, I am scheduled to go to my ob/gyn next week for a "prenatal meeting/class" and then not scheduled for my first visit in 3 weeks. Is it normal to worry that I'm not pregnant anymore because of the fact that I'm not experiencing any symptoms-other than extremely tender breasts? This is my first pregnancy and I am beyond excited to be experiencing this! Hopefully I'm "normal"

Re: Is it normal to worry?!

  • um. yes.  i think it's more abnormal not to worry.  you will get symptoms... you are just too early.  i felt that way and then i was throwing up constantly at 7 weeks (you definitely feel pregnant then).  hope you don't get it as bad as me, but just enjoy the lack of symptoms while you can and congrats!

  • Ha, like everyone else said…worrying is kind of part of the territory of mommy hood :)  Congratulations to you!

I'm about 5 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy.  The first time around, I barely had any symptoms for the entire pregnancy.  Only heartburn.  When I asked my doctor if I should be worried that I didn't have any symptoms, she laughed and told me to be grateful and not question it :)  It's so easy to worry, but you are still early and you may not have symptoms.  If you don't, be grateful and enjoy the ride!

    Blessings to you!
  • I can definitely tell you that it's totally normal! I'm only in week five with my first one, and already I can tell that there are days that I have more symptoms than others. Sometimes, I'll go days without many symptoms at all! And then on other days it's like I have every symptom in the book! It just depends on your body really. Every woman's body is different, and every woman will have different experiences with their pregnancies. So don't worry. Chances are, you are most definitely still pregnant!

Each pregnancy is different. I didn't get symptoms until about 9 weeks and they hit me like a bus.

  • Worrying is normal! Symptoms will happen at different times for different people and even each pregnancy.

I am barely experiencing symptoms. My only one is that I cry like a baby during my toddlers cartoons every day. My husband says I'm always that emotional.

Remember that at 4 weeks, many are just getting their BFP or haven't even thought to take their test. It's just early. The symptoms will come! :)

    Congrats!
  • It's totally normal, I'm only 7w+5d and I already am feeling much better, but I was in the same position as you at your stage. But when I hit 6 weeks the m/s was kicking my ass! Trust me, it'll come and you'll miss the time when you didn't have any symptoms LOL. You're still a little too early to be feeling anything yet.
