today was the day I was dreading...

I can no longer see my lady bits in the shower...  image

It's going to be one adventure after another trying to shave and trim up!

  • I hold my belly back and shave.... one leg up. Haha.
  • Last time I gave up!!! I can't imagine what my poor kid saw when he first entered this world ;)

  • Me and waxing are not friends. I break out in hives. Horrible horrible swollen hives. So that's a no go!

I nervously giggled a lot this morning trying to take care of myself. lol it was interesting

I got waxed during my pregnancy with DS and had a horrible reaction.  It was awful and uncomfortable.  However, I hate the time it takes to deal with this myself in the shower, so I did some research and found another salon that only focuses on waxing and uses hard wax as opposed to soft wax with strips.  I've had nothing but positive experiences with them (have been going now for about 4 months).

Look into sugaring if it's available in your area.  I am incredibly sensitive to waxing but find that sugaring isn't as painful and I don't have *any* reactions to it like I do with wax.  Which sucks because my favorite eyebrow person only uses wax, so I walk around for 3-4 days looking like I got into a fight with the sun.

I've been practicing with my eyes closed for a few months now. It's totally ridiculous but I'm getting pretty damn good! Plus when I can no longer see the bits I'm hoping it will help.

I'm one of those who can't stand the feeling of re-growth so waxing is out for me not to mention holy hell I can't even imagine the pain. I have waxed my legs and armpits and that's as close to sensitive areas as I can get!

Edit: Clothed and Closed do not mean the same thing!

  • I too am at this point. It is a sad situation.

I've been trying my damndest to hold my belly up to see, then having DH tell me if I missed places.

I kind of want to order one of those tria laser devices I've been seeing on tv. Tho they are probably a waste of money.

    Everyone welcome
  • Lol all I have to say is be careful down there! After I can no longer see it (weeks ago) I just let loose and go wild.

  • Two words:   Brazilian wax.

I have to admit I can not imagine someone waxing my bits... I can do my legs but that's about it! Also don't want to have someone up close and personal to me *shiver*
  • Once I can no longer see what's going on down there, I give up. A little extra hair has never kept DH away. I may use clippers to keep things tidy but I'll only be using my razor on my legs from that point on.
  • Last time I just shaved the sides by legs blind so I didn't have hair poking out of my bathing suit. Maybe once or twice I used Nair. Other than that I just let it go. If you can't see it, you can imagine it to look as beautiful as you want!

  • Once I can't see I just give up. Decide it's not worth it, Dh is terrible with a razor, I'm pretty sure he'd remove things (body parts) I wanted still attached, and really I just can't be bothered to care while pregnant. The only thing I'll do blind is my bikini line so it's not hairy when I take DD to swimming lessons.
  • Ha! I had a similar experience in the shower yesterday, went in blind, and now have random patches of hair to deal with lol. Too hard! Maybe I'll go back to just trimming until after the baby...

  • Has anyone used Nair? I meant to ask the dr yesterday (usually I shave blind but I noticed I missed some patches last time).

  • Wow, I can still see a little bit, but decided to get out my trimmer and do it in the mirror (over a towel) once I can no longer see.

This stuff works awesome for the up on top parts...I've gotten good at blindly shaving the bottom bits.  If it looks like something from the 70's, try trimming it up first, then use the cream.  (This is also a good price on the stuff!)

    Don't go in blind.

One of the girls on my previous BMB had a tragic shaving accident with her fun bits. I won't go into details, but take my advice!

It's time I told the world about my experience with this. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Scissors. Trim. Leg on the sink. Water on the floor. Slip. Snip.

I now have a teeny little notch in my uh.... little petal?

    Yeah. That just happened.

Oh my goodness this is SO not funny but I still couldn't help laughing. That and @alysie89 had me giggling at this thread.

I don't remember this issue last time. Pretty sure I was cleaned up but now I can't recall. I've been holding my belly out of the way but haven't even thought about when I can't do that anymore. Oh boy.
  • I'm getting by with the Venus bikini trimmer to keep things tidy generally and have yet to nick anything:

  • I sit on the edge of the tub with my buzzer hedge trimmers... and I still managed to nick myself this week.  DH won't mind doing it.

This made me lol.  You are a brave woman!

I get waxed.  Hard wax is the way to go.  So much less painful than strips.  And don't cheap out.
