Hello, anyone else with placenta previa continuing to exercise? I have abstained from intercourse or heavy lifting as instructed, and have been doing gentle prenatal yoga, but would like to do the elliptical or arc trainer for some cardio, but I'm hesitant. I was diagnosed at 9 weeks and am now 13. I go for an ultrasound on Monday and am hoping that maybe I've shown some improvement. Also hoping I can still travel at the end of February for a baby moon!
I had my A/S today and was told I was borderline previa and they are going to monitor me at my next couple of check ups. I asked my Dr. if I need to limit my exercising or anything and she said the only thing to limit was vagininal things (sex, douching, tampons). Not sure who's douching or using tampons during pregnancy, but the no sex was a bummer to hear. She said she just didn't want anything that could hit my cervix.
I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 16 weeks. Had my first bleed at 19 weeks. I am currently 21 weeks and was told no lifting over 5 lbs, exercise, ect. This may be because I have had a bleed though.
I am 24 weeks and just found out 2 weeks that I have placenta previa. However, apparently both of my doctors were aware of it and it just wasn't explained to me. I see a specialist (to monitor the previa) in addition to my regular OB. The specialist told me no "rough sex" and I mentioned that I ride horses and he just told me to be careful of falling. However, my regular OB was shocked (I thought he was going to have a massive coronary) when I told him I ride horses and was still having sex. That being said, I have not had any bleeding and I work out daily. Everyone is different. I would discuss any concerns with your OB. My personal thought is that I am very aware of my body and know my own limits. I am not doing anything that I did not do prior to getting pregnant.
I have complete previa and I had to quit running (they were worried the impact may start a bleed). However, I do the elliptical instead along with cycling and swimming.
Borderline previa diagnosed at 16 weeks. I was told no sex but light exercise was fine. I haven't been running, but using the elliptical and haven't had any problems yet. The nurse told me no lifting over 10 lbs, which I think is a little extreme. I have been trying to be careful with what I lift, but have definitely lifted over 10 lbs here and there. No real weight lifting since diagnosis though.
diagnosed with placenta previa at 16 wk ultrasound after spotting... instructed to no lifting over 25 lbs. and pelvic rest ... I had my AS ultrasound last Thursday and previa is still present my office called me today after reviewing ultrasound and want me to come in this Thursday for another ultrasound not sure why so many. I don't exercise but am active during the day working as a preschool teacher. Anyone else having this many ultrasounds this close together for this?
