Menstrual cramps

So I was having BH's all night. Not enough to be too concerned, but I noticed them. Thought I was dehydrated so I drank some water, peed, and laid down on my left side for a while. Now I'm having very uncomfortable cramps, like menstrual cramps. Anyone else have this or is this a 'you should call the doc kind of occurrence'? I mentioned cramps to my doctor on Wednesday at a check up and he said it was okay, but these are way worse than before.

  • Ya labor felt like the worst menstrual cramps in the world. That is the only way I could describe it. I would call your dr

  • I would definitely call. Even if it turns out to be nothing, at least you have the peace of mind. And if it does turn out to be something, you don't want to ignore it!

  • Call. Even if it's just for peace of mind. If it is something, it's best to catch it earlier on.
  • Doctor, from what I've heard menstrual cramps aren't normal
  • keep an eye on their timing too...  are the waves of cramps coming predictably every X amount of minutes?  info like that will be useful to your doctor when you call.
  • Did u call the dr? What did they say
  • This is a symptom in which you are supposed to call your doctor. That said, I have had a feeling of menstral cramps on 2 occasions in the last few weeks. Though I don't know for sure I suspect the cause was gas.
  • Thanks for the advice ladies. I called the doc last night at work because they got worse. He said it can be normal and to go home and keep an eye on it. They got better once I rested and ate a snack. He thinks it may be another uti since I am prone to them, so I am going to have that checked out today just in case. They weren't timeable per se. They just came every few minutes for a few seconds. Going to get checked out just to make sure though. My doctor sucks and is never very helpful, so I guess I have to be my own advocate.

  • I had my first experience of having period like cramps during pregnancy on Monday! I had an appt on Tuesday so I told her about it and she said it's normal! It was a different doctor than my usual one (just because I have to meet everyone in the practice just in case my doctor can't deliver me) but I feel like I've heard "that's normal" with most of my questions I bring to them! I had period like cramps on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm chalking it up to her moving and my belly growing. I would always call the doctors office and speak to someone if you think you should... Especially for piece of mind! Sorry to hear your doctor sucks though... That's frustrating!

  • I would call your doctor as well.  I started feeling that way, but it didn't last, they said it was a pulled muscle.  If it is lasting a while and excruciating, I would definitely call.  Good luck!

  • I've had these type of cramps the last week or so. Nurse said they were normal. GL and FX!!
  • I went in and found I have a bad uti with blood in my urine and bronchitis that is irritating my uterus causing the cramps and contractions. Boo. Bed rest for the weekend which means no work again for me. Thankfully, I have a doctors note so they can't fire me yet lol

  • Yikes! At least it's that, and not preterm labor though! Sounds awful, having to make light of the lesser of two evils... Sorry you have to deal with that! Feel better soon!
