DS is going to be almost 3 months when I go back to work on January 5th. I am starting to get concerned about how many bottles I need to have ready each day and how many oz in each. I have been pumping sporadically to build a little freezer stash, but I am starting to worry that I am not going to be able to pump enough while I am at work for him to have for the whole next day. I was thinking about pumping at least twice a day until I go back just to give my a supply a boost, so that I will be able to pump enough for him while I am at work for the next day. Theoretically, shouldn't that work?

Re: BF/Pumpers of 3 month olds
I'd add a pump first. Your prolactin levels are at their highest between 1 and 5 am, so try pumping in that time frame, plus the one you do during the day. My highest total is ALWAYS the one I get first thing in the morning.
You can power pump if you want to. I'd try another pump time though before doing that... Power pumping is pump for 20, off 10, pump another 10, off 10, pump 10. It mimics cluster feeding, which boosts production.
I pump first thing in the morning to add to my stash. Theoretically, it should work to pump for the next day. The problem is that pumping is never as efficient ?as the baby, and it can be hard to keep up. Plus, pumping successfuly is very psychological, and the pressure to produce with no stash can actually inhibit letdown.?
?Your best bet is to optimize your pumping situation at work. Try to make sure you have a private, warm, comfortable place, and enough breaks that the time pressure won't be inhibiting. Easier said than done at some jobs, I know!?
