I'm learning to be an advocate for myself as a patient since it seems to be necessary with my ob's office. It's a long story that I won't bore you with but I got my SHG scheduled for next Tuesday, February 11th, at 1:00pm.
Now questions:
1) My doctor didn't tell me to take any painkillers, they're just prescribing me an antibiotic to take the night before and day of. Should I still take Advil beforehand?
2) We're supposed to have friends over that night for supper. Will I be in pain after the procedure? Should I postpone?

Jan 2015 - Medicated cycle with timed intercourse
TTA for 7 months
Jan-Mar 2014 - RPL, SHG, karotyping: all results normal
TTC Again May 2014
Progesterone & baby aspirin combo for 5 cycles - All BFN's
SA with DNA fragmentation = Perfect results

I think I'm in the minority on this one, but I felt fine during the exam. And I was good until 3-4hrs later. Then I had pretty intense cramping & took some old pain killers to knock myself out for the rest of the night. I don't know if it's dependent on how much fluid is pushed in or what. I def recommend taking some ibuprofen an hour or so beforehand.
