Using a soother with Croupe

Morning all, I'm wondering if anyone here had ever let their LO use their Soothers while they had a Croup flare-up?

DD had been freaking out earlier (weezing/stridor) and I was going to take her to the hospital (30 minutes away) but offered her the soother (that she's been off of since October) and she calmed right down. Every once in a while I can hear her weezing but she is actually sleeping now. I'm just worried she can't breathe... Thoughts? TIA

    We used a pacifier when my daughter had Croupe.  It helped her stop coughing quite a few times.  We did have an emergency room visit at 3am after a horrible attack and they gave her 3 days of steroids and it helped immensely!  Between the pacifier and the meds, we were over it in about 2 weeks.
