I am breastfeeding my 2 month old but I have an almost 2 year old and when I had to go back to work with her I had to switch to formula because pumping wasn't an option with my work schedule. My Pediatrician had us give her nutramigen. I believe they are all pretty much the same. It seems like the deciding factor when choosing a formula is how well your baby tolerates it. Luckily the formula industry is under strict guidelines so there really shouldn't be much variation between one formula to another. I know my sister had to wean my nephew from breastfeeding when she became pregnant with my niece and she actually used the Costco Kirkland brand of formula and my nephew is a thriving, healthy 5 year old.
I have only used Enfamil Gentlease, so I can't say if there is a difference between the brands. That is what our pediatrician suggested I start supplementing with since LO also BF. She has had no issues with it, so I've never tried anything else.
There isn't really a simple answer to this question- some babies are picky and some aren't. I think my daughter would happily take anything you gave her but we've had to switch formulas twice because she had horrible gas issues. We switched within the same brand and she's now doing much better on the Similac Soy. I stick with Similac because she likes it and we still have coupons, but I don't think it's superior to Enfamil. I just want to stay with what I know is working for us.
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.
DS1 did great on Similac and had a hard time Enfamil and Gerber formulas.
DS2 we started off on Similac then switched to Parents Choice (Walmart brand) which is the equivalent to Enfamil. He had no issues on either formula or when we switched from one to the other.
