Update

First I wanted to say thanks for all the support and comments...it helps more than you know. Just wanted to give everyone an update from my appt today!

The BH is normal, but I was given some other signs to watch out for since they seem to be consistent. Unless I'm hitting 4-6/hr, nothing to worry about at this point in time. The BH could he causing my upper ab to remain tight (go figure).

As far as meds. Saw the midwife today and explained the whole mess from Monday. She told he to keep the therapy appt since in at risk for PPD, but she didn't understand why my meds weren't looked at because the place doesn't deal with that. So, she changed my med!!! She told me to immediately stop the buspirone and begin Zoloft. She assured me it is breast feeding safe and went over the post-delivery risks. Starting it tomorrow morning at 25mg, then upping it to 50mg at my 28 week appt. for maintenance. She also drew blood to check my thyroid to see if it is off any since December.

Other than that, I don't drink enough water...I hate water...trying to get 2L/day seems impossible. I can't make myself water down juice, so DH is getting me some flavoring to try.

I still have that weird feeling that something isn't right, but I guess I can't help that. Hopefully things smooth out soon! Thanks ladies!!!

Re: Update

  • Glad everything is okay.  Re: water- splash a little bit of something you like in there, like a juice or fruit slices.  That's how I cut down on DS's juice intake and get him drinking more water- an ounce or two of juice and the rest water, just to change the flavor.

  • Glad to hear you're okay.  As for water, sometimes I pour a pitcher and fill it with sliced oranges and lemons (sometimes I'll throw in a lime).  Let it sit overnight in the fridge and it's delish.

Or, have you tried adding a few drops of Mio (is that what it's called?) to your glass?  I have a coworker who does this because she won't drink plain water either.

  • Glad to hear things are starting to work out. I was on Zoloft at 50mg too for awhile and it really helped! But like you know, meds are different for everyone and some are amazing for some where others aren't. Hope it works for you!! As for feeling like something is still wrong, could just be the anxiety. I have horrible anxiety at times and I feel like that too. Everything will work out and you and baby will be happy and healthy! As long as your OB isn't concerned you shouldn't have to be either. I hate drinking water too but it helps to have a water bottle (I use a nalgene 32oz cause its easier to see what I've drank for the day) close by during the day. If ya get one of the wide mouth ones it's still easy to put stuff into your water. I liked putting sliced lemons and limes in mine in a pitcher in the fridge. Very refreshing! Hope things get even better for you and the worries start to go away. Hugs!!

  • I used to do the crystal light thing but all I crave now is red sodas. It's been my craving since the beginning. DH and I are picking up some mio/crystal light Friday, so until then I'm enjoying my Mtn. Dew Code Red :-)

  • I am glad things looked good and hopefully the med switch will help!
  • Glad to hear!  Hopefully the meds will help.  and I second the Mio/Crystal Light or just tossing a little lemon or lime juice in a glass of water to break it up a little.  Another option that I know some people use is drinking an herbal tea.  It's not the greatest at hydrating, but it helps, especially if you aren't the biggest fan of water.  :)
  • Maybe try sparkling water instead of soda?

  • So glad everything is looking up! I add Mio to my water and it tricks me into thinking it's soda-like. I dig it. Maybe try that?
  • Crystal light makes a fantastic cherry limeade flavor. Highly recommend!

  • I can only drink so much plain water myself. I have done the Mio flavor squirts, and other brands as well. I also buy flavored water, like Aquafina or Adirondack. A friend of mine would add fresh lemon juice and lemon slices in her water when she was pg.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
  • Glad everything is ok with you. I'm not much of a plain water drinker myself. Lately I've been filling one of our travel cups with water and taking it to work and than I have no choice but to drink my water.
  • So glad you are doing better.

For the water I found if I have a bottle with a straw on it I drink a lot more. Right now I have a camelbak brand that I love, cold water also helps me I love the little ice cubes so it does not get in the way of the straw fitting. Also agree with adding flavor/fruit slices.
  • Glad to hear that everything is going better! Hope it continues to get better :)
