  • I don't know anything about this method of wrapping, but she's so cute!!

  • So cute! I would say that as long as she is nice and snug & the back is t sliding down, she should be fine.

I love the color of it. Where did you get it and what size did you get? I have been hesitant to get one cause of the size. I worry it won't be big enough for all my curviness.

  • Love the wrap and your LO is so cute!! Is that the front wrap cross carry? It's ok for her arms to be out but she needs a deeper seat and her knees should be above her butt and make a "m".

You really can't get it too tight because the wrap will loosen out a bit wearing her.

It's taken me a few times to get it all right after watching tons of YouTube videos.

Sure thing!! Make sure to have the bottom part of the wrap tucked under her butt. A good trick is to tuck it into her pants or pull it up between your tummies. This will help get a nice deep seat! This is a good video https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=share&v=Cor1X560y18&desktop_uri=/watch?v=Cor1X560y18&feature=share

  • Yay! :) You look great mama :):)

Few tips- See how her legs hang down, ideally, you want to create a deep seat for her so her knees are above her bootie.  Heres the trick-  lay the wrap on your bed, place LO in the middle marker spot, tuck the wrap between her legs and into the waistline on her pants. This will give you a sturdy seat for you to work with.   Let me take a quick picture with my LO to show you…

Then, pick up baby, and begin your front wrap cross carry, bringing one side under right arm and over left shoulder, then other side under left arm and over right shoulder.  Then stop, regroup, gather one tail at a time and tighten.  Cross under legs and tight in back.

  • I'm sure this has been asked before but how much weight can these hold? Like, how long would I be able to carry LO?

  • Make sure you cross over one leg, under butt and under other leg as well ;)

Well into toddlerhood. I carried a 2.5 year old the other day. These woven are amazing. Worth the price.

Omg ok I did that ALL wrong. Lol I didn't take her legs out

She is tired so I'll have to practice tomorrow, damnit!

    Thanks ladies for the tips!!

One more question. Do you fold the wrap to make it thinner or is it your preference? also double knot in the back or no?

  • When I do front cross carry I fold in half, not with front wrap cross carry. There's a lot of carries don't worry they come naturally after a few times.

With your FWCC I do a double not in back . If she feels loose, untie, take both ends and bounce up and down as you tighten.

  • I didn't read previous comments but you need more of a "seat". Think of her as sitting in a chair made by fabric instead of her just being pressed on to you. Try to pull as much fabric in between the two of you as you can.

Her knees should be bent. I know it will feel awkward having her legs spread on you. I get worried since I'm heavy that LO is uncomfortable sometimes, but it really doesn't bother her and it's more comfortable overall.

Just keep practicing. You did a great job for your first time.

    ***dammit stuck in quote box***

folding- depends on the carry but usually i do not fold. i think that's preference

knot location- depends on your size, the wrap's size and the carry. if i have a lot of extra fabric then i double- wrap it around and tie it so the fabric isn't hanging on the ground and tripping me.

Stuck in quote box eh?! DRINK! ;)

  • OK i have another question... i ordered a 5.2 and i think it's pretty long and could possibly use a shorter one.. should i return it for a shorter one or is this ok?

  • @asilwhite - sure is! Bought it off the swap for $150. SCORE. Permastash though.  I am addicted to wraps. Dh says "OMG WHAT WRAP DO YOU WANT NOW?" daily :)

  • I like to fold, then I sort of sit her bum in the pocket that the fold creates and it helps me get a nice seat for her.  My LO is a peanut though, so if I don't fold she gets lost in the width of the fabric.

I will still occasionally wear my 37pound almost 3 year old on my back.

  • That looks better. I spread the crosses all the way to the knees as well, but it looks like you have a good seat.

If my LO is awake she wants her arms out, that's fine. I just tuck her back in when she falls asleep.

Me too, loving it. I want to try all.the.wraps! I keep eyeing several on the swap, I wish there was a way to touch and feel through the interwebs. I'm working up the courage to list my kokadi to get something thinner.
List it for trade! See what offers you get. And then I'll stalk you and bump your listing :P

  • It looks much better! Looks tighter and a great seat mama! :) way to go!  Keeping her arms out is fine- just make sure she's tight enough in there through the torso so she's not flinging her body back.  But it looks nice and tight.  :) wahoo!  How do you like it? How does she like it?

  • thanks again guys! i found a pretty quick and easy way to wrap, i think i need to get her a little tighter in the back area if she wants to keep her arms out.  I think she likes it.. but i have to keep trying.  how often do you all use the wovens? it's not something i can just toss her in (although im sure once i get the hang of it ill be doing it with my eyes closed)  I think i will use it more in the spring.  I'm loving it!
