New christening gown or reuse dd's?

I really like older dd's gown and was planning on letting the new baby wear it for her christening. We plan on getting professional photos done like we did with older dd, so would it look stupid then having pictures of them both wearing the same gown. Or, I could get the baby a new gown. Mil offered to pay, but for a variety of reasons, I would rather not taker her up on that offer. Would it be a cute tradition to have them wear the same gown? Or get a new one?

My mom actually made my christening gown then gave it to me for my oldest daughter and I used it again for DD2. So I'm saving it to hand down to my girls. I had professional pics done in it & am going to hang my picture with each of theirs in our home. It made it extra special to me.

Vote for same gown. If I have a girl next, she will still wear little man's gown. and have her name and baptism date sewn into it

My Mom made special gowns for each of my girls, so I vote separate.

We used the same gown for the girls and plan on having DD3 wear it as well. I don't see the point in buying a new one for each child, especially since they only wear it once.

I vote same. You never know it might become a family gown that gets passed down.

My kids wore a gown that has been worn by three generations now, two of my uncles wore it, most of my cousins, my cousins' babies all wore it, and I wore it. I think it makes it really meaningful that way.

I've never known of a family to have more than one gown. Not to say it doesn't happen, but IMO the whole point of a Christening gown is to pass it down to each child. Both DD and DS will wear the same gown and their monogram and birth dates are embroidered on the slip.

Reuse. It I just one day . And I think it I special for them I share!

I am not religious so it is coming from a thrifty place!
