Plans for V-day?

Is anyone doing anything special for Valentines Day? We don't usually make any big plans. This year my pastor's wife has offered to watch the kids so we can go out. I think I might take her up on it, at least leave DD with her. if we decide to do something, we will probably take DS. I doubt very many of us are cleared for ST yet...I'm definitely not although I will be 5 weeks pp by then.

. My birthday is the 12th and DH is going out of town from the 12th-14th for work, and so by the time he gets home I'll probably hand DS to him and immediately go to bed.

We have a doctor's appointment that day. SO isn't working that day so we might go on a date if anyone wants to watch DD. If not, its gonna be just another day.

We have never really celebrated V-Day. It seems like we usually have had to make a new purchase near V-Day and we just say that's what we're "doing". This year we just bought a new snow blower, so that's our romantic gift.

I won't be ready for ST yet, so nothing too romantic going on over here. We might buy some nice steaks to cook at home, that's usually our meal on V-Day.

My birthday is this Sunday, so DH and I always do a combined birthday-VDay dinner and a movie date. We're still trying to figure out if we're taking DD with us or going to leave her with my parents.

We will go out, but not on actual v day since restaurants will be over crowded as busy. We're just using it as our excuse to have an evening out by ourselves. It will be my first time away from DD since she was born and we probably will have some st (it will be almost 8 weeks pp)

H and I won't be together, but I'm going to send him a card and his favorite homemade brownies. I told him I didn't want anything [which is true], but he normally sends a card. Our birthdays and 5-year wedding anniversary are next month, so we're kinda focusing on that.

DH usually gets me flowers and maybe a card (if he remembers,lol) or other times we have tried to go out for dinner, or even lunch minus kids. But he works that evening, and DD will only be 2 weeks old so if we actually go anywhere that day or during the weekend she would prob go too...and with the weather as cold and gross as it's been I don't see that happening. Today was the 1st time DD has been out of the house since we brought her home, and only because she and I had our 1 week pp checkup. And definitely no ST here, even if we were cleared for it...I actually feel pretty good physically but I'm exhausted and my pp hormones are all over the place...I'm a cranky, tired mess... :-/

If anyone offers we would love to go out. DH and I haven't had a meal that either of us didn't have to scarf down in 5 minutes in a month. My 6 week appt wouldn't be till the Monday after

but I'm still bleeding anyway.

DH and I may try to go out to dinner next weekend. We'll see. MIL is dying to take all 4 kids (she cray) and who am I to deprive her of that??? It just depends on the BFing situation at that point (we've had to supplement a few feedings/day to keep up with our big girl and may end up just switching completely to FFing over the next week or two. Not sure yet!)

@Amylou333 I hear ya. I got cleared on Monday despite having on small stitch that hasn't healed a hundred percent. Totally used that as my I'm not ready yet card.

I'm not a fan of V-day on a normal year. My mother will be in town. We have zero plans and I really don't care. Just another day IMO.

We usually give one another cards and then my husband cooks us dinner. We will probably do the same this year, except it will be the early bird special.

The inlaws are coming up, its my oldests birthday on the 12th, my husband finishes his call shift on the 13th. We may have sex if I feel up for it, we will see.

Ok I feel weird being thrilled that I was cleared for ST at 4 weeks (which was 3 weeks ago) ....I get my Mirena on Monday though so I'm a little nervous about how that will effect ST. But sadly my V-day is ruined this year because BIL planned his wedding for the next day. So DH will be driving 2.5 hours away to a rehearsal (at 10 am WTF) and then coming home and getting a haircut at 6:45 and picking up his suit. My mom is also coming up that evening. I think we've planned to celebrate V-day the following weekend, maybe by going for a wine tasting at a local vineyard. I guess we'll see how it works out.

DH's parents will be in town and we will be doing a date night that night (our first since DD was born!) but no ST, as I haven't been cleared yet. I WILL be having a beer with dinner, though, and I'm totally excited about it.

We won't be out too long, because DD hasn't yet gotten the bottle thing down, so I'm still EBF, but it'll be nice to spend a few hours with DH.

Part of me craves a little ST and another part of me is terrified of it. If LO cooperates, I'll make DH his favorite dinner and see how it goes from there. He deserves more for all he's done the last month, but I'm coming up short on thinking of a great gift for him. My brain seems to be leaking out with my breast milk.

Vday has never been a big deal to me but my parents offered to watch the girls so I think DH and I are going out to dinner to Olive Garden.

We do cards on V day and dinner sometime that week, to avoid the crowds. There will be no ST as I won't even be 4 weeks pp and for whatever reason (period maybe??) I started bleeding again after completely stopping over a week ago.. ST is a no go till that stops.
SO already told me he's taking me to pick out my gift.. And I haven't honestly even thought about wth to get him.

This is me as well. My appt is Thursday an I'm very excited to have some time with DH
