NBR: Bridesmaid Gifts

Hi Ladies,

I could probably post the question on The Knot, but since many of you are married and very creative/crafty I thought I would ask here.  Plus, the board has been a little slow lately, so maybe some of you are bored and will want to respond.

I'm getting married in October, and I am starting to think about my bridesmaid's gifts.  I have 1 maid of honor and 3 bridesmaids. I am thinking of doing a personalized tote bag, an outfit to get ready in the day of the wedding, flip flops for the reception, some kind of "knot" bracelet, a personalized tumbler to drink out of the day of, and possibly a clutch.  Thoughts? I'm not sure if I should do something general like this or make each gift more specific for the personality of each girl.

I would appreciate any good ideas you have! TIA!

    I just did clutches for my girls. My friend gave us all personalized 31 utility totes, which has been super helpful for hauling baby stuff

    I did something similar, but did a variation of each thing for each girl. Like for the totes I would do something that reflects their personality. I bought homemade bags from Etsy (I'm not that crafty) and one friend loves owls so I did that for her and my sister loves the color purple and butterflies, so I did something with that for her. Just gives it a more personal feeling vs all the same things for each girl.

    I think those ideas sound great though :)

    NWR but I bought these bags as gifts for my baby shower hostesses - they love them! One of the girls just had a baby and used it as her hospital bag, they're huge.

    I got each girl a different bag based on their favorite colors.  Filled it with many of the things you mentioned in your post.  Tervis tumblers are a great addition as they come in all sorts of fun patterns that can really match the girls likes/personality.

    I like the idea of the same gift but with personalized colours, patterns, etc. I had six bridesmaids and I got them a clutch in different colours and a bracelet from etsy with a charm, their birthstone and a pearl (they were wearing pearl earrings at the wedding). I figured that way they could wear the bracelet to the wedding or not.

    I think bags, clutches, totes are always useful.

    All your ideas sound wonderful! If you're wanting to do something more personal, I second the Thirty-One totes/bags! For my MOH and BMs, I did jewelry (earrings and necklace).

    We gave cute tote bags embroidered with their names and matching sterling silver rings with lifetime warranties so they could get them resized and what not.  I had 7 bridesmaids and 1 guy, so I got my guy friend an engraved pocket watch with a photo of us inside.  I feel like there was something else, but I just can't remember what it was.

    I did something similar; Coach clutches (different for each girl), pashminas, and pearl earrings. I had flip flops at their chairs at the reception. 

    DH did personalized gifts for each of his GM. 

    For thank you gifts for my shower I did Vera Bradley umbrellas and robes. Both of those things still get used 6 years later!

    Vera is my new go-to gift.  They opened an outlet here and the stuff is insanely cheap!!!!

    I did coach wristlets, boxed wine that looked like a purse and something else that I cannot think of! Darn it I hate when my mind goes blank

    Eta coach factory has an online site you have to be "invited" but they have lower than outlet prices with sales all of the time. If you want to send me your email I can add you so they start sending you the sales emails

    I had six bridesmaids, and I gave them all cotton or flannel pajamas and slippers from Victoria's Secret. I told them since I was making them be uncomfortable (relatively) for the entire day/night, they could at least be comfy when they went to bed. :)
